J Trials 31
I think I have the adaptor mounts. It has V-brakes on it now. Do I use the bolt on the V-brake? The mounts have two holes and the V-brake has one. So how will this work? Can somebody walk me through what I'm supposed to do.
AdamR28
http://www.magura.com/english/produkte_static/video/evo2.htmAnd in case that doesn't work (didn't for me)... http://www.magura.com/english/produkte_static/video/evo2.asf
J Trials 31
So wait. I have to have some sort of booster? And what's that thing that flips down? I'm sure I've got it, but I haven't seen it. Is that thing on both sides?
AdamR28
Any chance of a pic of what you have? That video is for Evo2, sounds like you might have Evo mounts...

J Trials 31
buy a vee brakeI do have a V-brake, just don't have good pads and don't feel like buying more stuff. Hey Adam, it seems I do have the Evo mounts, not the Evo 2's.
AdamR28
Ok cool... Well the black 'elbows' need to fit against the frame/fork, then the booster over the top to stiffen everything. I would bolt the adaptors on both sides (bin the QR as it slips too easily)... Really hard to explain but I can't find a picture!
J Trials 31
Alright, I think I know how it goes now. Do I actually need a booster as I don't have one. If so, I'm guessing it would be a 4-bolt booster right?
AdamR28
You don't NEED a booster but it will be mega flexy without... the best booster is a 2-Bolt, as the bolts for the bottom are M6 and won't pass through a 4-Bolt booster (plus the vertical spacing is likely to be incorrect). cai
You don't NEED a booster but it will be mega flexy without...Of course he needs a booster! Without that shitty 'Evo 2' booster at the back, whenever the brake is 'pulled' the callipers would just push away from the rim (pivoting around the vee brake mounts).I'm guessing this is what you ment by it being mega flexy, but he dfinatly needs a booster on there. Maybe two like a Revell 2-bolt attatched to the front of the M5 bolts. But seriously, all of that for IMO a much worse of a brake Vee brakes are just awsome (aslong as they are decent arms, pads, etc.. obviously. People complain that they're Promax brake sets are crap, buy Avid/shimano!) and if you've you've got the mounts on your frame / forks already - then no need for the adaptors, win win all round But its your choice, all we can do is advice you whats best...
