How To Strip A Rear Pro 2 Trials.

When I do the bolts up tight, the freehub locks up on part of it's rotation and grinds if you turn it by hand. I've had the wheel in without the chain on and tested it. When the bolts are nipped up, it doesn't grind, then when you tighten them properly it starts grinding.

I found this video for the standard Pro2, does the trials version strip in the same way?

Once it's apart I'll be able to see whats up and sort it out, I tried following that video but I can't get the drive side cone off, I havn't given it much welly though. Should I?

If you cant just pull it apart like he did. Then take the non driveside cone off and put the hub on something and knock the axel. This way you will get the cassete off but still attached to the axel as the axel will come out to. YYou should be able to sort the problem out from that now as it will more than likely be the spacers. If you need to get the axel off the cassette screw the fun bolt in on the driveside about half way may be more and give it a knock and axel should drop out, it shouldnt damage threads at all as they are pritty beefy and i did it fine meself. Would recomend giving it a grease when going together so things slide off next time.

edit, could be a snapped spring.

edit 2, only difference between the pro2 and pro2t apart from one being qr axel is that the pawls are offset so you have twice the pickups, otherwise same hub.

Mended! Cheers Hudson, the drive side cone came off more easily when I got the axle out. The springs were sticking out of their little slots a tiny bit, so I pushed them all the way.

I also cleaned around the big seal between the hub shell and the freehub body, it had got some grit on there so I cleaned it all away, apparantly sorted now!

Keep the cones on and hit HARD several times time a hammer, seemed to work for me, the cone just comes off as normal. all hope fits are easy enough to get hold of at most bike shops. Halfords can even get bits in! too 15% off!

On another not, could be the washer thats missing / wrong size. Same thing happened to me! right pain it was!
