J Trials 31
Where can I get one? I was told Onza made one. Thanks Jordan
Muel
http://tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?produc...;category_id=21It's a 6 speed one, but you'll probably be running singlespeed anyway so it doesn't matter.
J Trials 31
Nope, not that one. It's 8 speed and has a rear disc mount. And I will be running gears. Revolver told me about it. I sure hope he's right.
AdamR28
I have never seen/heard of such a thing... sorry.
Muel
I think they did an 8 speed freehub with a disc mount, I think it came as standard on the Zoots? Not certain though.
basher
I think they did an 8 speed freehub with a disc mount, I think it came as standard on the Zoots? Not certain though.More than likely wasnt an actually onza hub.
AdamR28
Yeah there is an 8 speed freehub on the Zoot, but it's not fixed so...
eskimo
The Echo one is on sale at Tarty, but it's 6 speed. And Trials-Uk have a Viz one, but that's also 6 speed. Actually it seems they're all 6 speed.
J Trials 31
Yeah there is an 8 speed freehub on the Zoot, but it's not fixed so...Ok then, what engagement does it have? Does it have a rear disc mount? And what's the price?
AdamR28
30, yes, £cheap (it's on a 549 full bike)... but I've not seen them available separately.
Muel
Best bet is to ring up supercycles if you really want one, or try and pick up a second hand Hope XC or even a Pro 2.I've definately seen rear XCs go for around £40-50.
J Trials 31
How many speeds can a Pro 2 take? Looking for something with 8 or 9 speed compatible.
Robwalker
99% Sure Pro 2's are 9spd compatable. Google is your best friend.
AdamR28
Pro2 - 8/9 speed... Pro2 Trials - 6 speed. I thought you wanted a fixed hub though?
Robwalker
Whilst on the subject, is there any other difference between the pro 2 and the pro 2 trials?
AdamR28
Yes, a lot: Axle, freehub body, hub shell, method of fixing hub into frame = completely different hub.
J Trials 31
Fixed doesn't really matter. Got a 22 tooth chainring and a WI laying around. Any more suggestions on what I should get then. Hope Pro 2 sounds like a good bet, but will it handle trials? Didn't know there were two different Pro 2's. Also, does it have the same engagement as the trials version? Edited August 18, 2008 by J Trials
Muel
I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure the Trials one has more engagement points.Just get the trials one and run 6 speed, the Pro2 Trials is worth the extra money over a mono or and XC, and probably a normal Pro2 aswell if you ask me. J Trials 31
Yeah, I think your right. Hope Pro 2 trials it is. I can actually get the trials version cheaper than the regular one anyway. What's a good cassete to use? Might be able to use the current one, but not sure as it's 9 speed so will have to take all of it apart.
JonMack
Most people run singlespeed or a custom cassette, something like 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, allowing you lots of ratio choice, depends on your chainring size really.
Revolver
this is the one I meant.I've only seen pictures of it briefly, and talked about it with my friend a similar amount. You'd need a different cassette and shifter, your derallieur might do the job anyway.Sorry, lol. J Trials 31
Yeah we'll come to that road when I have to. At this point, I still haven't bought the bike and I might not if I find a Monty frame for a good price.
