sstein
I use a tensile 4 bolt booster and I am getting annoyed that I can't fit my pads in without cutting them down. Would you say that a two bolt booster is good enough? I know that power will be Ok but will my frame break because all the stress will be on the lower bolts? psycholist
How will changing to a 2 bolt booster stop you needing to cut your pads down? Unless you're using Evo mounts and find a booster with a wider spacing than the default one you'll still need to cut the pads down to make them fit. Do the pads foul on the brake booster or something?
Muel
I'd just grind the booster down until the pads don't foul on it if I were you.
sstein
I'd just grind the booster down until the pads don't foul on it if I were you.I don't want to destroy the tensile, so I will get a new booster. I am merely asking peoples views on two bolt boosters.
will4eva7k
I prefer 4bolt boosters. They may take a few seconds longer to set up than 2 bolts, but they also seem to work better for me.
Richard jersey
I had always had a two bolt booster when riding with a rear magura. It always worked perfectly and i never had any problems with it + lighter than 4 bolts.
Mikee
They both do the job but 4-bolt boosters do it a bit better in my opinion.
omgnoseat
Bit of an old topic, but can´t be bothered to make a new one. What exactly are the differences in 2 bolt- and 4 bolt boosters, other than the way they are installed?Do 4 bolt booster reduce the flex more or something? Also, is there any way a booster could harm your frame by being "too" stiff?Might be stupid questions, but I was curious. Echo-Scott
Basically a 4-Bolt booster will be stiffer than a 2-Bot one. Im personally not a huge fan of boosters. They kill alot of the bite and i dont like the feel of it that much. However though. I am running a tiny wee skinny 2-Bolt booster on both my brakes and there is very little flex atall.A 4-Bolt booster will not harm your frame by being too stiff. If anything it should make it last even longer(Unless you are a fat basher, Then your frames pretty much doomed anyway).
