Muel
I drilled the sidewalls of mine, it hasn't bent really, I don't do many front wheel moves though.
cai
I'd just drill extra holes next to the existing holes, as filling takes far too long!
Richard jersey
Not with the way you ride matt. sorry

lil Jsy Chris
Doesnt sound like a bad idea, but is it worth the time as it may end in you having to by a new rim if you crack it because of it.Although because its the front i would say you would probably be alright
Dave Anscombe
yeah you should have no problems at all Dave
Muel
I drilled the sidewalls on mine, I saved 18g.If I were you, I'd just wait for the Kamel rims to become available to the public, they are under 300g, so you'd save over 100g over your TI rim. Muel
They were Monty TIs I think. You didn't have to quote the picture, if you take the pictures tag out of the quote then everyone will know what you mean, it just saves making the pages too long. Mark W
But then add a couple of hundred grammes of rim-tape to cover all the massive holes?
Muel
Sellotape for that one, 40g max for both wheels!
Ash-Kennard
or parcel tape for like 5g
basher
If i remember right they didnt even end up that light did they compared to tryall?
Muel
Standard TI rims are lighter than Try-Alls, so I'd guess they did pretty well haha.
Mark W
or parcel tape for like 5gWhat I was getting at was that because the holes are so f**king big and even extend fully up the sidewall, you'd need to cover all that area off, and there wouldn't be much support for the tape itself when you inflate the tube so you'd have to lay it on pretty thick? With my old Try-All rim unless I doubled up the electrical tape it bulged quite a bit at around 30-35psi.Having said that, I guess they're probably not going to be running any more than like 20psi at most for comps, so it'd probably be OK.I really wouldn't wanna ride those rims on anything gapping to harsh edges though, the sidewalls would surely dent/fold like a bitch with that little supporting material? Greetings
But then add a couple of hundred grammes of rim-tape to cover all the massive holes? Doh, you just don't use inner tubes. And without those, there's no point in having tyres. Seriously, Abant have sorted out all the weight issues that trials riders have ever had by just making larger holes in rims.On a more related note, Marco G used these wheels for a whole season and they were fine.
