JonMack
But, Get a rear Maggy on there mateWhy, for worse brake performance?
bitemybutt
I agree with Jon, a rear magura is rubbish on a KOT. The's so much flex in the seat stays it's ridiculous. Mine slips all the time.
Muel
Does look awsome, and it rides very well too (i had a go when Adam had it)Yes the booster is there to stiffen up the rear end abit, i think if you put a 4bolt one on it would be even better to stiffen it up, KOT's are known to be abit flexy.AdamI've been thinking about it, but to be honest I havn't been able to hammer it properly yet so I don't know how it performs properly. I can tap now, but not gap.Muel you b*****d. I want a KOT so much :(Looking fooking awesome. But, Get a rear Maggy on there mate, nice chuncky 4 bolt booster and you'll be good It rides brilliant on natural aswell! I rode some local rocks today and it's a beast. I worried it suits me so well that I won't be able to go back to the Echo.Only thing im going to say is errrr rear disk.Shut up Hudson, gayer. Jason222
Forgive my ignorance, but I don't see how a rim brake booster will help a disc brake? Surely it makes no difference at all?
Luke Rainbird
Flexy stays + booster = less flexy stays
dave33
i ride 16:14 and been thinking about going to a harder gear but i think that 16:13 would be to hard im considering going to 18:15 which seems to be very popular these days
Muel
16:13 = 1.23:1.0016:14 = 1.14:1.0018:15 = 1.20:1.0018:16 = 1.12:1.00I ordered a 13t sprocket today, if I don't like it, it was only £12 haha.To go to 18:15 would cost more, but I might do if I don't like 16:13 and can't get used to 16:14 if I go back.I like hard gearing though, on my mod I run 18:12 with 158mm cranks, most natural riders run 18:13 these days. dave33
well i would defo say that a lighter gear helps improve ur tech alot, but then again with short run up for taps i strugle to get speed for big taps and ups 55" plus taps need loads of speed i found
Muel
My biggest tap so far has been about 40". I can't get the run-ups sorted out, I have to be really close to the rock/wall with 16:14.Anyway, I'll let you know how I got on tommorrow afternoon, hopefully the stuff from Tarty will arrive tommorrow. Bigman
16 - 14 is about the perfect gear ratio!! 16 - 13 will feel very hard, what length are the cranks? as that will make a difference too.Adam
Muel
170mm, I'm used to 18:12 with 158mm cranks, so 16:14 felt way too low. I've got 16:13 now, I only had a quick hop round outside but it felt perfect.Hey Adam, if you thought my hopes on my Mod felt firm at the lever, wait till you feel these! Matching carbon lever blades now, they are so nice on your finger, I'm thinking about getting another set on the Echo!
NileBrownâ„¢
That looks the nuts! wow, I never really liked double disked stocks but this one is nice...Do you prefer it over mod?

Muel
That looks the nuts! wow, I never really liked double disked stocks but this one is nice...Do you prefer it over mod?Unfortunately yes, I can barely ride the mod now after getting used to this, I was hoping that I'd be able to ride both. I'll keep it for a while though, but I can't see myself riding it at all really. I can ride natural on the stock probably as well as I can on the mod, but I think I'm riding street better already.Thats well nice :$Cheers Jonny, ride soon dude! Muel
I'm not certain, but I think the Coustelliers are designed for 18:15, I'm not certain though. I was talking to Bigman about the horizontal dropouts on his and I think he said it was.
N.Wood
Real ballers run 18:15, yeah.
Muel
If only I were a baller, then I could run a gear ratio slightly different to the one I have!
dave33
think im gonna go machine my old magura bash down so i can run a 18t cog up front to see what all the fuss is about, cant bare to part with my middle burns though

I'd be really interested to see that.18:16 is where its at. ps: get a vee16:13 owns, and no. I think I might try a Vee one day, but this disc is just too good, it works better than any I've used before, it's super stiff at the lever.
