joey vajda
This is my finished version of my tensioner.Cleaner looking, stronger and more tension since the proto, can't wait to try it out tomorrow ? I think so at least. Will post pics on bike, when taken.Comments are welcome Joey

joey vajda
nicely done..whats the "roller" made from? The roller is made from teflon. Very very smooth glide!

Andeee
Very good effort. How much does it weigh? Pics of it on your bike if possible please and also a review?
joey vajda
Very good effort. How much does it weigh? Pics of it on your bike if possible please and also a review? Not sure the weight, sorry, but its like average to a tensioner, like as much as my surly. It is definitely less than a mech. Will have pics of it on my bike in a few, just need to find the time. Going riding in Toronto so I will probably have them up monday.I review it 10 out of 10... just put the actual make on today and its mint as well. Hit it a couple of times today... sturdy as f**k. I was running the proto for a few weeks and it held up like a champ. Tensions it massively, also my friends are running them as well, since my dad made them, and they both love them as well. Makes bike feel very solid and more confidence for side hops. Basically bomb proof. Little to none skippage, and takes a beating. Thanks for comments.Joey
cai
Sounds and looks brilliant mate, good job (well good job by your dad ) !!One thing I would do is.. to make a kind of 'cage' to go around where the chain sits, so there's no risk in the chain slipping/coming off

cai
Well it has plates on the side so it keeps it in line.Yeah, but you said... Little to none skippage and I wasn't sure if you ment the chain coming off - which would obviously be dodgy! But I guess you ment 'skippage' as in the tension isn't there, and the chain skipping over the teeth on your cogs ? .GUY.
what is the thickness ( I belive it's the good word lol) of the "spring" and the other plate with the hole? I was thinking about about taking a plate of 1/8th of inche for the plate with hole, but is it thicker?and is it stainless for both plates?nice looking tensionner by the way... I hope mine will look as good. Edited August 17, 2008 by Nic.Guy
joey vajda
and I wasn't sure if you ment the chain coming off - which would obviously be dodgy! But I guess you ment 'skippage' as in the tension isn't there, and the chain skipping over the teeth on your cogs ?Well skippage as in once in awhile (like twice a 5 hour ride), and it just makes a popping noise? i dunno, but its harmless.what is the thickness ( I belive it's the good word lol) of the "spring" and the other plate with the hole? I was thinking about about taking a plate of 1/8th of inche for the plate with hole, but is it thicker?and is it stainless for both plates?nice looking tensionner by the way... I hope mine will look as good. The thickness of the spring is 32 thousandths of an inch. The other plate with the hole is 1/8th of an inch, and same with the roller's plates. Both of the roller plates are stainless and so is the plate with the hole.
