Need Help Deciding On A Phone

I've had the G600.

To be honest, the camera actually isn't that good. Everything just looks bad, colors are wrong.

Also, lots of bugs/problems with it, in the sense of; If someone rings you when it's slid up, you can't answer it. The MP3 Player cuts out randomly. The screen has a habit of forgetting how to turn on. I've also heard of other issues which are more serious with them. If you google G600 Problem in google, there are lots of Q&A's.

Edit: I'll add. I was on contract, and they did replace the phone many time. The errors were still there.

I was with Vodaphone.

Is it just me or does the interface seem really boring and plain?

You can get additional themes, but overall it's a what is described as "business phone", without any of the facilities.

I won't knock Sony Ericssons. After the G600 I went back to my old SE W300i. It looks like poo, but it's the best phone in the world. I've had it since I was 15!! It's been dropped off bikes, even stupidly left it on the roof of a car, it dropped off. No crack, and it didn't even turn off!

Would strongly advise a SE; not sure on the current models though. Read some reviews on the best one, and test them ALL out.

Testing out the phones is what put me off buying a Motorola V3i when I was 16.

Wouldn't advise getting one tonight. Go to the local carphone warehouse and try out a range of the Sony's.

Some of the new Sonys have horrible keys and a boring menu layout. Though some of the new ones are brilliant.

But stay away from Samsung, they're cheap horrible crap haha.

Think you've picked two stinkers there pal

The w910i are very unreliable, ive owned one and another 3 friends have too all broken within around 4 months, from buttons cracking, to screens not responding and smashing very easily.

The g600 again is a pretty small flimsy phone with a very poor camera

Samsung g800 is much better than the g600 imo, i got mine about 6 months ago as new for £150, hasnt let me down, the camera is great, nice and sturdy, good interface etc cant complain best phone ive owned

In a nutshell: Sony Ericsson's flagship Walkman phone offers a wealth of features: it's a 3G Symbian SmartPhone with an excellent 3.2 megapixel camera, video recording and video calling, a Walkman music player, an FM radio, touch screen, web browsing, email, Bluetooth and WLAN connectivity and 8 Gbytes of user memory.

Who am i going to flog this n95 to, now?!

I'd go for a sony over a samsung any day of the week, just my 2p. Although avoid the touchscreen one as someones said, they break very easily.

What do you mean? i didnt say anything about n95's just mine and my friends opinions of the two original phones?

i do think the n95s are good phones but v overpriced for what they are really, and they do break pretty easily.

Seeing as how mp3 and camera options on phones suck ass, I went a different direction. I got a Casio rugged phone. These phones don't offer tons of bells and whistles, but you can chuck it at a wall and it's fine. Also it is water resistant, I dropped mine in a lake, had to dive for it and it still works. It takes reasonable pics, but they do not offer a mp3 player in the states, but perhaps there they do.

If you want a phone that will last ages look into them, if you want a fancy, impress your buddies phone, then by all means those phones look shiny and bling bling-ish, but I have no idea about the function-ability of your choices.

Shame you have to book an hour off work to actually do anything. They are soooooooooooooooooooo slow.

Non Symbian Sony Ericsson phones though rock. I have a w890 currently.
