dave30dmt
Hey there i have just gone on to the Tarty Bikes website not been on in ages so the new website is pretty cool anyway i was flicking through and i noticed Try All has brought out a free wheel the 108.9 and all i want to know is are they worth £55 and are they as gd as they say they are because my Tensile freewheel is now dead so im wanting a change so its a toss up between the Try All one and just another Tensile one. Fixed Pants™
Tryalls are shit. They break very easily and quickly.
dave30dmt
Also what would be a recomended front freewheel for a 20" street rider thats a bit harsh so it got to be strong cheers
Fixed Pants™
ENO if possible... But Tensiles seem to be a good bet, haven't actually used one though.

Sam-Addy A3
My mate has a try-all 108.9 on his xtp2, the engagement is amazing, has skipped a couple of times but no more than any other freewheel. With 108 engagement points and 9 pawls, it definetely is competition for ENO imo.Sam
J Trials 31
I would go for either the Try-all or an Eno. Have an Eno, but haven't rode it proper on anything yet. As it's on my BMX.
JamieWilliams
Eno last longer. I have a new try all freewheel and it's skipping. Edited August 13, 2008 by Jamie L L williams
Muel
They're shite, my mate has had 2, and they both died within 3 months. My Tensile will be 2 years old in december, get ones of those, but clean the grease out when it's new. Danny Kearns
Tensile freewheel's are the best freewheels ever. I've used Try-All, Eno and Tensile. First freewheel I had was a Eno, It exloded on me within a matter of week. So, I was un-decided on what to get, had heard mixed reviews on the Try-All, but decided to grit my teeth and go for it. I used my try-all freewheel for well over 8 months and it never once skipped through on me and i gave it alot of abuse. As far as i am aware, it's still running perfectly fine now and i sold that bike over 12 months ago now.On the bike after that. I had a Tensile freewheel. Was useing that for atleast 10-12 months and not once did it skip through or anything. Engagement felt super solid, couldn't feel a difference between this 60 clicks in the Tensile, compared to the 108 in the Try-all. In all honesty, the Tensile felt more sturdy.I would highly reccomend a Tensile as my first choice. Try-All would deffinatly be my second option though
jsy trials matt
everyone one ( extp. for 2 riders ) who has a freewheel setup in jersey uses them, there the best
Dale-Hill
i'm running a Monty and it hasn't let me down yet
Muel
I had a Monty, I didn't like it much though. I prefer 60 click to 72 because I find I can feel when the pawls have dropped properly when setting up for something, so I don't end up not engaging it fully and causing it to skip when I go to do whatever move I happen to be doing. lil Jsy Chris
I have had a quite a few try-all freewheels now and really like them. They are really good while they last but they also seem to break quite often so I would say for the money they are not worth it as it will probably break at some point. esfrost
I have the first generation tryall fw since the day they it was released, never had any big problem with it, never skips, although mines got a steel ring both sides around the fw shell, so its a lot stronger than a stock one. tomm hale
to be honest, I would get the ENO freewheel if you can afford it but if you cant get the tensile
Dannoo
My Try All 108.9 has been working perfectly fine for over a year.. I havent abused it much though.
Julius Czar
i have a try all freewheel, and is working fine but mine is relatively new and i havent abused it much yet 2 of my friends have the tensile and personally i like the feeling of the tensile more ive never tried the eno but another friend of mine has it and he said it is very good but i would reccomend the tensile as it feels nicer and has a more powerful feeling to it
J Trials 31
I got a Tensile and I don't see what the big deal is. They skip just as much the engagement is not that good. Why does everybody use one? I just continue to use it cause it won't come off my cranks.
adam 94
Try-all are great and sound great! but i think eno is the best one. My tensile one, the cassette keeps coming out!
Richard jersey
Personally i think the Try-All freewheels are definitely the best to ride with. Quite a few people say that they break easily and its true that they arn't as strong as some other freewheels. But mine has always ridden perfectly. It depends a bit on the way you ride also.
