right ive got a belkin router. wireless. which has always been fine, and still is.

but since ive got my desktop pc, ive been using a belkin usb dongle. which performs ok, but not brilliantly. (i.e drops connection every 30 minutes or so for 5 seconds)

my mothers got a laptop, so the wireless is still needed.

and im going to be buying xbox live. (which will soon be in the same place as my desktop but is currently in the front room)

its going to be a ballache running 2 cat 5 cables up the stairs neatly.other option is xbox wireless adapter. but for pretty much the same price as an xbox wireless adapter(which maybe pretty duff, if its any weaker than me belkin dongle) i could get a triple pack of those powerline networking plugs. (the ones that network your house using electric cables)

are they any good? will they work alright? and could i possibly use a twin pack of adapters. and a splitter at this end?

basically just want a reliable internet connection for pc and xbox in my room, at quite a low price(ive got £700 worth of vouchers for currys/dixons/pc world, but obviously the less i spend on them, the more i get for a wall filling tv etc)

one of these?

so they dont work, or dont work as i thought.

likewise, could i just buy a homeplug set up, with a plug 2 ethernet ports, plug one plug into my router downstairs, and plug another into me mains upstairs, then plug me xbox, and pc (and possibly ps3) into another plug upstairs?

It must have a tiny little hub-like chip in it to control packets from 2 computers going down 1 cable.
