streetjibs
i wanna try a ffw setup for a change with horiz dropout frame... so as topic description says lookin at either a karbon or a hydroxx (yes i can get one.. although most places are sold out).I know there is some geo differences, 25bb rise on karbon vs 45 on hydroxx and slightly shorter wb on karbon, but im wondering what people think of them?Strength of frame...?Ride...?etc...especially from people who have ridden both or either bike, feedback on hydroxx especially appreciated. looking at you porter, having ridden both.cheersdanny. manuel
Didnt the karbons break ? Also wasn't the problems with the karbon protos, and geometry of it one of the reasons why (my hero) Kenny Belaey left Koxx ? All roads point towards the Hydroxx ... Ive ridden a couple briefly - and they are actually pretty nice (if you are into that sort of thing)
cai
Never riden any... but the Karbon looks awsome (especially the top tube) and the geo would suit me much more I'm fond of the lower bb's, and shorter wheelbases.
Krisboats
Dan Ko's Hydroxx is really nice. Not tried a carbon to compare it to though, but if it was me i'd be over the moon with the hydroxx.

Rich Pearson
Personally I think that the Hydroxx is probably the greatest trials frame ever produced. I honestly don't think you could get anything better.Note: have ridden both before; Karbon is good, but nothing on a 'droxx Rich
N.Wood
I've ridden both, and would say the Hydroxx felt a little better and more 'up to date' geomtery wise.Although if you're slightly shorter or generally prefer shorter bikes and more 'traditional' geometry, the Karbon could be the one to go for.I don't think you could go wrong with either, but I'd plump for the Hydroxx if given the choice. streetjibs
thanks for the replies... keep em coming looks like the hydroxx is the go. If i get the hydroxx its a complete (Which would be my first all new bike in 5-6 plus years or more) and the karbon is just frame. So the hydroxx sounds like it will be much nicer all round. last bike was an ozonys , so looking for something fairly similar to that - so probly the hydroxx thankyou all for feedback

I intend to get one as my next frame if i can. Can you run a rear freehub such as a pro 2 in the with the horizontal dropouts?"
