MadManMike
Looking good dude!!Those forks are the next and last thing on my list to get for the DMR Well, ideally some Atomlab Trailpimp wheels as well, but to be fair mine are good enough! Revolver
Its main use is transport, but I actually use it for freeride, BSX, and 'street slalom' - think racing a course consisting of man-made drops - we came up with that ourselves in the local university grounds, lol. G-baby158
Nice bike, my mate had one in white he cracked it near the plates that are welded on by the headtube.
N.Wood
Good stuff, get a short cage road rear mech, a Sora/Tiagra will do, it'd make the rear end look alot tidier i recon
Revolver
Gonna get a XT one. I'll buy a chainring, chain device and new gears all in one go, i reckon. Although i might just have the geard n shifter and get the other stuff later.
Mike Deere
Looking pretty good! Looks very versatile too with little compromise, something you rarely see these days.
Revolver
That's the stuff. This bike i've built to be versatile.I've fixed the compression dial on the forks now. Too many people fiddling with it when they shouldn't... perhaps even me! All i need to do to the forks now, is find the rebound adjust thing (lol) and get stiffer springs, and the key upgrade for the travel adjust. Stiffer springs should eliminate the need for the compression dial.
TrialsMan Dan
Thats an XC fork, whats it doing on a dirt jump bike?
Revolver
It's an all-mountain forkand...I got it because I wanted lockout and adjustable travel, but not the 20mm axle that comes with Pike. Pikes are more expensive to start with, then add ontop of that the need to buy a new hub/spokes or a whole wheel... hence getting the recon forks I will one day get pikes for it, but that can be when I'm rolling in maybe £1000 a month. They're just too much atm. Edited August 6, 2008 by Revolver
davey1991
Thats an XC fork, whats it doing on a dirt jump bike?Yer its more of an xc than an all mountain,The argyles have lockout well the 318's do and they would make that bike look slightly less odd,Looks like some begginer took to the front end and saddle :S, its good frame i want one its a BSX and 4X frame and how the hell you do freeride on it i have no idea. Revolver
Yer its more of an xc than an all mountainfair enough. I like them, too soft though so will upgrade springs. and how the hell you do freeride on it i have no idea.rubbish freeride like taking it off drops and going to hemlock stone on it and doing the trails there. davey1991
id class that more as dirt jumping lol ven though its not dirt but i love love love your frame, saddle you had to go for the cheep option didnt you .
eskimo
More cables than behind my pc!I think the travel is too much for that frame, doesn't really look right. I don't really know but doesn't it put more stress on the headtube?
Revolver
id class that more as dirt jumping lol ven though its not dirt but i love love love your frame, saddle you had to go for the cheep option didnt you .I like that seat!It stands out lol. Besides, if I sit on it, you won't see it. And if I ride it, I'll be going too fast I can't ACTUALLY dirt jump for shit lolMore cables than behind my pc!I think the travel is too much for that frame, doesn't really look right. I don't really know but doesn't it put more stress on the headtube?the sus goes to the maximum recommended for the frame, 130. Ideally it should be set at 115, but I like it high for manuals. Seeing as it's at the max for the frame, it won't stress it. Too big though and it would stress and snap there.Andlol at the cables. But - cable for rear brake, cable for gears, cable for front brake, cable for lockout.I'm not not having any of those on my bike (apart from the front brake, temporarily). It's not much of a do-everything-including-sort-of-trials bike if I take any of those off.The lockout's the most odd, but it controls the hardness of the fork so I have no choice atm. It also makes hills and general riding easier. Edited August 18, 2008 by Revolver
