Toshiba Vs Dell Xps

Hai all.

So I'm thinking about purchasing a laptop for Uni and stuck on which one to get.. Toshiba Satellite P300-18M or Dell XPS?

I'm just wondering, since I'm gonna be having this laptop for at least 4 years.. which one is more reliable? The Toshiba or the XPS?

TOSHIBA

or

DELL XPS

The XPS has come to about £749ish and is slighty lower spec than the Toshiba. The Toshiba is £799, and is 17" monitor whereas the XPS is only 15.4". Is 17" too big and heavy for carrying about?

Anyone got either laptops? Which one of these 2 laptops is more reliable?

Ive got a Toshiba Satellite, slightly lower spec than that one, but still 17".

To me, it doesnt feel big and bulky, feels just right. When I go to use my moms Dell laptop thats only a 15", it feels so small and weedy. The laptop overall is great, it has a good battery life and a nice weight.

Ive never used an XPS so cant comment, but I do like my Toshiba.

Cool! Yeah.. my brother has a 15.4" monitor on his Vaio and mom has a 17" on her dell.. I think 17" is better but was scared of it being bulky and that.

How long have you had your Toshiba for?

The Toshiba would defiantly get my vote. I'm not sure about the ATI card, although I only really know and trust the nvidia cards so I'm not sure if it's on par.

If it's going to be your main computer in uni, I'm sure you would benefit from the 17" screen if you want to watch films, programs etc.

Another reason I would choose the Toshiba 17" apart from being far better spec. As it's larger than the XPS the keyboard layout is a lot more comfortable and not as compacted as your standard 15" Laptop.
