Foam Grips

I normally use rubber ones (try-all) so i got some foam grips from halfords for a change and any time i am out in the wet they start turning. I dont use the end plugs as i like to grip the bars at the end so water gets underneath and they turn, any ideas?

I thought foam would be better during the summer for sweaty hands

Well for a start put them plugs in! Theres nothing more fun than falling off and being impaled on your own handlebars!

As for keeping them still, try hairspray or laquer or tar. Most people opt for laquer/spray paint or hairspray option

Well I had rockman foam grips never ever moved in the wet. But not as comfy I have bad wrists

Then got Halfords foam grips put two on each side comfy as f**k. But slide around like f**k in the wet. But I never really ride that much in the wet

So you might want to try some different grips

Slather some spray paint inside the grips, slide them onto the bars and leave to dry for 15 minutes. I've done this with Halfords foam grips and it works a treat. Once they've worn out you might want to consider a different brand of foam grip though - I've noticed the Halfords ones become really baggy and detach from the painted bars as they get more worn. Monty and Trialetch ones stay tight untill they're destroyed, even if they're put on without paint.

When i got my try all foams they looked like they were never going to fit as ther were about 1mm or so too small, just stretched it over and never moved at all even in wet just dry them off and they were fine, try all along with monty, rockman and french ID are all around 28mm wide so guess they all work as well.

Obviously a little more than halfords but i'd say it was well worth it.
