boriska
Want to buy Chris King back wheel hub, choosing between Heavy Duty and Single Speed.SS is lighter and comes with a cog, seems like a better choice to me. But can it be any problems with aluminun driveshell? Won't the CK wide cog (15T) dig into it?Thanks with the advice.

Im not sure if the singlespeed hub has a stainless driveshell or not.I have an alloy driveshell on my ck with a 16t king kog and it does dig in alittle, just need to use a couple of chainwhips and a spare sprocket to get it off if it has dug in. You can always get the alloy driveshell and if it dies put a stainless one in there
basher
Dont use a king cog and use a wide based one like the bt one which i think is the widest on the market at the moment; and digging in shouldnt be much of a problem then.
forteh
^^ What he said makes sense, there are wider based sprockets out there than the 5mm kingcog
James Quigley
If I'm right:Hd king has the heavy duty axle, fun bolts and stainless steel driveshellThe single Speed has heavy duty axle, fun bolts but an Aluminium driveshell. The aluminium driveshell is fine if you use a wide based cog, but using a thin cog will dig in and somehow hurt the bearings (I've seen first hand). To sum up, get the single speed and a wide based cog (the wider the better). bitemybutt
Heavy duty doesn't come with fun bolts as standard. Mine came with QR adaptors in it. Definitely get the fun bolts if poss, as the adaptors can work loose unless you tighten them up properly.
James Quigley
Now I remember, My adapters imploded though
Bigman
Personaly i would go for a full HD classic or ISO, if you buy from aspire it has the fun bolts and stainless drive shell included. I would make this choice because with the single speed you get an aluminium drive shell, the helical drive splines are incorperated into the drive shell and i have heard about the alu helical splines deforming and causing skipping etc.Adam
