I have some new pads which have to much pad to fit so im needing to take some off. Which is the best way? Ash-Kennard
get a vice, put file in vice and rub that pad. or the other way round, whatever
psycholist
If you want to take a mm or two off, clamp the pad into a vice with what you want cut off flush with the jaws and use a hacksaw - it's hard work cutting brake pads even with a fresh stanley knife... Muel
I've found sand paper to work brilliantly for straigtening up pads, should work for this. Lay the paper on a flat surface, then rub the pad back and forth, don't push down too hard or it will round it off.
bollo you ball-bag
if you have a bench grinder hold the pad in a set of grips or plies and lightly place it on the side of the disk (the flat side. just dont press hard.
