Gym Membership - David Lloyd

I'm about to change Gyms because the LA fitness is too far from the new house.

Looking at David Lloyd as it's got lots of facilities and is pretty close. Has anyone experience of haggling with them?

They've offered £55 each per month for peak membership and waived the joining fee (£200) The sales guy reckons they can't negotiate on monthly price and assures me that it's only this month he can waive the joining fee... There' me and my girlfriend too, so I'd have thought they could do a joint membership cheaper too...

Seems like a lot of bull to me as others have told me they'll negotiate monthly prices, and I've never seen the joining fee written down (There's nothing like offering someone a free lunch that was already going to be free anyway!)

Anyone got any experience with them?

That's shite pricing!!!

I'm in Banatynes, which is everybit as good, posh, clean, excellent and amazing, £38 per month, peak membership. That's free spinning, dance, aerobics, boxersise, steps classes daily, pool, pool classes, steam rooms, sauna's, jacuzzi's, use of all spinners etc anytime, complete gym with aerobics shizzle, cardio sections a million and one machines and just as many free weights.

It's the location more than anything - was with LA Fitness which was a lot cheaper (£65 for both of us, nationwide, but the pool in Liverpool was small, and the Chester one is too far from her new house, the ones near my work were too small and didn't have pools) so made sense to change.

The only competition for the David Lloyd is the Thornton Hough Health Club which is even more overpriced!

No Bannatynes on the Wirral - think the nearest is Crewe.

Going back tonight to see if we can squeeze anything else out of them.
