Ben John-Hynes
Do you know that it's your cranks and not your BB?Have you tightened your crank?Have you taken them off and had a look?
tris
every now and then my crank well creek:S is this a sign of it going to fook up? it has not got any worse just keeps creeking lolI had this with my Onza for a while. It's easy to fix and i doubt your bike is going to break!! The creeking is probably coming from the BB. Give the BB a dose of chain lube, any lube really (except your mum's). The lube the chain as well. I did this and after 10 minutes the creeking had stopped. If this does not work then i'd suggest tightening the cranks up as well. Hope this helps. I have an onza t-pro 05/06 and my bottom bracket has done the same thing and on my mountain bike, the solution i found is that you should use WD40 it will work wonders and if the creaking comes back spray it again on to the bottom bracket just next to the taper just so you know that there is no need what so ever to take your bottom bracket out.thanks Jack Rawsep.s: WD40 can be used for nearly everything on your bike if it could do with it, I'm sure you know this already but this is to everyone (do not use WD40 in you hydraulic brake sytem)
forteh
Creaking will be unlubricated surfaces sliding against each other, either the crank taper/splines or the BB cups/threads. Both should always be put together with an antisieze compound anyways
