bollo you ball-bag
had a quick flick through ebay this is thebest value kit i found. The kit contains 25 inserts which should last you a lifetime. The only thing missing is a tap driver but i'm sure this could be sourced cheaply and easily.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HELICOIL-TYPE-THREAD...p3286.m14.l1318and this is the tap driver i said about http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/M5-M12-RATCHET-TAP-W...p3286.m14.l1318 Edited July 21, 2008 by lozz

Headley
Now that i know which size helicoils i'll need, what is actually involved in helicoiling? Is it just tap a new thread and insert helicoils or is there more to it than that?
bollo you ball-bag
all you need to do is 1 drill the hole out with the drill bit supplied in the kit.2 tap the hole ot with the tap provided3 insert the helicoiled thread4 snap off the top of the thread once the thread's completely in5 smile because you've save lots of money and have fixed you're bike

Jitters
Yep, helicoil kits are great! Just be careful to drill the stripped hole out nice and straight and don't wiggle the bit around as you drill. Don't wanna eat up too much material or set it in crooked. I've helicoiled a set of crank arms with great results. Good luck to you!
