Cancer

that NBR dude

Recommended Posts

Hey man,

It prob would be best to try and continue as close to the norm as possible. Being young will definately help (as has been said). I hope you can manage to keep your head up. Recovery rates for cancer these days are so high there hopefully shouldn't be a problem not long from now.

Take Care

hey

ive had a few family issues with cancer. a girl i worked with who is 22 i think had breast cancer too but got through it like a trooper!

i haven't ever been through it myself personally, so i wouldn't know how it would affect me but, all i can say is try and keep up a positive lifestyle.

like people have said being positive and keep busy will probably get you through this, as well as being young!

mostly all the best! i am sure everything will be fine :)

Sorry to hear that dude, my nan died because of that because she continued to drink after she was diagnosed with it.

My dad on the other hand was diagnosed with a really really minor case of it, so he became T-total and now he's probably the healthiest 45 year old I Know, stay strong eat well and keep your chin up, it was being depressed what made my nan drink so dont let it make you drink it'll just do more damage just stay happy.

Stefan.

I had leaukiamia as a small boy, not too keen on posting all the details on a public forum to be honest.

But feel free to add me on MSN if you ever have any problems or worries :)

  • 1 month later...

Having had a few people ask me lately, thought I should really post in here to update everyone.

Several weeks ago, I went into hospital for an opperation. I was amazed at how quick it all was, and I was in and out within 2 days. Everyone there was really friendly and talked me through what was going to happen. They've cut out a rather sizable lump of rubbish from inside me, in what was not a pleasent way (I'll let your imagination paint the picture there, but me and the doctors now have a very "special" bond), and lets say I was a tad sore for a while :giggle:

They cant say yet for certain whether its all 100% successful, and only time will tell really, BUT for the moment, I'm healthy. Im still quite thin-ish although I am now putting weight back on, after not eating for such a long time. Its such a nice luxury to eat and not feel awful afterwards.

Its not over for me yet, as I will still have to go back to hospitals for scans and colonoscipys every 3 months for 2 years, then every 6 months for the next 2 years ect ect.

To everyone that gave me advice on msn, and good wishes on here ect, I extend an extra big thank you and a hug! I couldn't have got through without all the postive comments from everyone, and it made me stronger mentally through it all! Im back to my normal self at last, which is the most relieving thing in the world...

Cheers

Andy

Good to hear you're getting better :)

I've little knowledge on this subject but I think most things are effected by your frame of mind...end of the day, anyone can make themselves ill if they believe that they are ill.

Keep an open, but positive outlook and I don't think you can go far wrong :)

Again, glad to hear it mate.

For everyday you wake up and knowing that your still alive and active, you should use that positive life energy as a means to reverse your circumstances. doesn't matter if your 6 months old or 100yrs, have cancer or being superfit, all life can be taken away at any given time. Ultimately my point is, we live in a world where there are so many unseen forces and circumstances beyond our comprehension or control (ie; that young lad who was recently stabbed and killed in front of horrified onlookers at a bus stop), but we cannot allow these things to dictake our lives because we would live in total fear of living. So use this cancer as a positive and constructive means to turn your life around via doing the things that is right for your body and mind. Even when you go to bed, keep the positive momentum going by thinking about the things you plan or hope to do.

I wasnt aware you had it mate, being a newbie on this part of the forum. But im glad to hear your on the mend. My brother, Spencer-you know him, his friend had cancer, was quite a serious one, but he recovered after months of kimo etc, now he just laughs about it and his nickname is cancer joe lol. One of my Dad's mates has just been diagnosed with ''stomach'' cancer, assuming this is the same thing, but i'll be sure to tell him your success story when i see him.

See you sunday i hope.
