mad_gavo
Just in the process of getting some new pads and a new rim on the back of my adamant A1 frame. Just wondering if there would be any benifit of buying and fitting a brake booster? As the brake has allways felt a little spongy Cheers Gavin
rudirudirudirudirudi
unless you can see the frame flexing its probably your set up, what your brake is bled with and lever etc. it should be fine. the adamant frames dont need a booster. there quite solid. Mat Smith!
re-bleed your brake and set up new pads square, use some card or a 2p or something to set them up, even if you think it doesnt need a re-bleed do it anyway.if it still spongey get a booster.Matx
mad_gavo
cant see it needing rebleeding as the maggie is only a month or two old Im getting new pads and rim so will make sure they are set up square from the offset. Just wondered what peoples veiw on having a booster were
rudirudirudirudirudi
if its a new maggie and bled with oil its guna feel flexy/ spongy. because that is what blood does to it.
mad_gavo
Water is what killed my last one so this one is staying as it came out the factory
rudirudirudirudirudi
but oil suuuucks. meh. guess you will have to stick with the spongyness. and getting another booster will probs break your frame. apparently they need a small amount of flex. Luke Rainbird
Oil works fine, and out of the factory they're generally pretty well bledThere's no real reason for a brake to ever need rebleeding other than damage, unless you've had it apart at some point of course

Matthew_Gibson
I found the A1 tend to flex quite a lot. even with a the built in booster!
