This is mine....Recently my onza chain tensioner bolt got worn so cudnt tighten it (or get it off)So took a link out chain (which meant it was too tight)First this caused the mech hanger to bendThe it caused the skewer bolt to deform slightlyThen it caused the chainring to bendThen had to get the cranks off to put a new chainring on but couldnt do it!By this point i was fed up with it all, so took it into the shop and they put on the chainring, shortened the chain, and took off the tensioner off completely, as I cudnt get the bolt for Onza singlespeed tensioner anywhere (not even @ supercycles). Its ok now but Im still left needing a new mech hanger, and a half link chain (or another tensioner). Havent ridden for weeks and now its raining argghhh!!! bollo you ball-bag Posted July 12, 2008 Report Share Posted July 12, 2008 i hate chain reactions like this. here's minemech hanger snapped so i shortened the chain so i could ride home.this was too tight an bent my chainring.stripped the crank threads using a crank puller i'd borrowed.hit cranks with hammer. no usehit harder but missed and dented my fametried again and hit my chainring (idiot) so yeh this is all due to my stupidity. it just fels like one thing after another sometimes. sstein Posted July 12, 2008 Report Share Posted July 12, 2008 *bent my hanger*stripped the four bolt mounts*got a new frame with different spacing so needed a new wheel (fair eneough)*had to change my cranks and bb as the old ones hit the brake on rotation*had to change cranks and bb again as new cranks sucked!this is a normal month for me.
