Tom_
Ahh right yea I get'cha. No drilled BMX rims seem to be massivly lite weight... Flys, these try all things and they seem to have disadvantages over the oddy rims. If I was buying new BMX rims id just go for standard black hazzard lites. Nothing better for the money. Try-all are way off the mark with these.
Mark W
The newer Fly rims seem alright, and the new Animal LM-R rims are pretty sweet:
AdamR28
My mistake, they weigh 10g less than the Odyssey 7ka rims (Which are 7075, not 6061...).And £80? Like anything, if you pay twice as much you'd expect to get a 'better' product. Also, is the 7KA (7 thousand aluminium I'm guessing) 7005 or 7075? When a company says '7 series' they usually mean 7005, since the price of 7075 is huge in comparison and would boast about the use of 7075 if the product actually was 7075. Mark W
They're just over £70 from most places, I thought? Hazard Lites are 50g heavier but are £40-ish, and again, I'd rather go for a Hazard Lite than what's essentially just a drilled Alex ____ rim. Knowing Try-All's trials pricing policy, it should be pretty interesting seeing how much these actually retail for. It'll also be interesting seeing how much a tube with 110psi of air in it deals with the rim tape over those holes. When I ran 30psi in my trials bike there was a pretty noticeable bulge in the rimtape (Running several layers of electrical tape), so if you have 3 times that pressure (or more), it could potentially be a bit sketch.EDIT: Yeah, the 7ka's 7005, my bad. AdamR28
should be pretty interesting seeing how much these actually retail for.£43.
Mark W
Just over the Hazard Lite. I know which one I'd go for.Do you happen to know which rim it was originally before it got butchered? I think I recognise it, but I'm not 100%...
PaRtZ
All this talk to rims makes me horny. The try-all rim looks awful - as a trials rider, I wouldn't trust it as far as I could...well...I wouldn't trust it. And Mark's cryptic sarcasm makes my believe that its no good for the BMX world either... So after all this work, its a koxx rim for competition/smooth riders, no good for streety bashers and no good for bmxersAm I right? Or wrong? Adrian
haha what a pants rim, as mark said how are we meant to put 90psi(what i run) in that rim, youd have to use plastic or something to cover the holes whata a pain in the but! and yea try-all have so obviously bought loads of cheap rims and stamped holes in them haha try-all do make me laughsince were on the subject of bmx could anyone recomend me a good front wheel (rim, spokes, hub) for a bmx ? sexymike
The hazzard lites ar £49.99 but generally sell for £45. i Put the echo rims to a bmx company a few months ago but decided it was too flexy. Unless this K-124 is double wall (Doesnt look like it?!) i doubt it would take much in the way of failed 360's or big moves that dont land perfectly straight.
