How Many Trials Riders Smoke Weed ?

Recommended Posts

lol im laughing at the people who think they're cool smoking weed

+1

I've always found people that smoke weed to say "Hasn't affected me" and they're always the least intelligent people you know...haha. Weed definitely destroys your brain, you just don't realize it!

I don't smoke weed because I think that I am cool, I smoke it just to end the day and to relax.

I have an 80% average in academic university courses and I am going into grade 11. Sure i will stop one day, but i am young with lots of time left, and least I'm not vandalizing peoples properties and stealing shit. I ride trials, and love it, and maybe I end the day off once in awhile with a J or w.e. Sometimes maybe try to experience Herald and Kumar or some other movie, which is hilariously funny, in a better more lazy state.

Sorry that I am not perfect, but I am Candian, what you expect ;) only kidding. But i am a teenager, i need to do something in the summer. Least now i have a job ha :P maybe I'll be more tamed.

Thanks joey.

People say this all to often as though it justifies it. I've never been into smoking weed and I've certainly never been out "vandalizing peoples properties and stealing shit" as a result of me NOT smoking the stuff. Don't pretend that the only alternative pastimes are negative ones. There are far better things to be doing with yourself and your money. I am by no means telling you what you should be doing with your life just saying you should stop being/pretending to be so naive.

If you want to look at it that way, although I've not done my research, I'd still be willing to bet that levels of criminality (including "vandalizing peoples properties and stealing shit") are higher amongst drugs users than non drug users.

Dave Anscombe on here, actually rides better if he's had a spliff before a ride or whatever.

to be honest, I don't think i've ever know him to ride without having weed before hand :P

I used to do it when i was like 13/14, then i just stopped doing it as i got older, i don't like it anyways.

Man speaks the truth......ive been a weed smoker for more than 5 years easily....and thats solid smoking......i ride wayyyyyyyyy better after a spliff i tend to chill out and relax alot more.

yes weed is a pretty bad drug...paranoia and lazyness is bad.....weed can ruin your life if you let it.but on the other hand helps with cronic pains....your joints and aches (Y)

4/5 doobies a night im happily chilled out and in a good mood.....everything feels normal once ive had a doobie......

yeah i know loads of you are even anti life......and are going to say your a dick for smoking weed.....well to all of you . im really not botherd ...:)

weed was put hear for us to smoke......or me at least.....

I recon 99.9% of peeps who smoke week think the same, ahh what can a few joints do to me.

well it can kill you at the top end of the scale and get you imprisonment, or lung deseise, throught/mouth cancer bad breath cash silmply dissapearing, parranoia, poor skin, lacklusternes, hand/eye coordination suffers the list goes on and on, not ot mention its illegal and way too stupid to use whilst riding any bike especialy trials where you need 100% concentration.

And as ive mentioned before the bike you could have with the money you use buying the crap!

Seriously this is one of the worst drugs to be used by teens as they think it'l never happen to them, but before long there hooked, id say if you've tryed it before put it down to experience and stay well away!!

Peace out and ride not slide :)

PS MRKOKK so you wont be bothered when nobody shows up to see you when you cant breath w/out oxogen mask or your in jail ????

Well I don't burn myself, but you're not going to prison for it (unless you're selling it). You're not going to get addicted to it.. (unless you're mixing it with other drugs), So it's really not a huge problem, do whatever you want, it's your body.

The funding of drug trafficking and organised crime is hardly a small problem.

Dan.

It's weed not heroin. You don't buy weed from some sketchy dealer involved in gang violence. Usually it's from a burnout friend who grows it themselves. Atleast where I live that's how it works.

Well that could actually be blamed on the fact the government won't legalise it and thus allow for control over it by more reputable sources.

You also mentioned that there are 'better' things to do than smoke weed, in comparison to other "anti-social" behaviours. Better is a relative statement, thus what is better for you (not smoking weed) is not neccesarily better for somebody else (smoking weed). Personally, at the time I was smoking weed I found plenty of benefits, one of which was opening my mind a bit and realising that we all like different things and that's just the way it goes. To be honest, really you need to have smoked weed to actually make a meaningful statement about wether it is a good thing for you or not. Sometimes the benefits (the experience) can outweigh the problems (health issues). You need to know something about the former to really make any meaningful statements about the latter. For instance, old women that tell me I'm going to break my neck riding trials. Yes, that's quite possible and I have hurt myself many a time but weighed up against the actual experience of riding trials, this potential problem is worth chancing - overall trials is a good thing for me. I don't know anyone who lives the 'perfect' life, without an activity that comes with problems. Consider the idea that you might just be parroting off ideas given to you at an age where you were impressionably vulnerable.

Don't be so naive. Do you seriously think the two are mutually exclusive?

Yes actually, because weed you grow, pick, dry and it's all set. Heroin and other hard drugs are more complex. You need to make with different chemicals that you usually don't just do at home.. and that's when the organized crime comes in play, they dedicate their time and money into creating the drug.

The social and societal problems caused by alot of drugs and their overuse would still exist regardless of whether they were legal or not, so it's not that simple an issue.

And stop pretending to be clever by picking on one word in what I have written and getting overly litteral about it's usage.

It sounds like you are assuming that I don't use drugs and never have. Don't be so presumptuous

Are you suggesting I am at an age where I am impressionably vulnerable? Again, don't be so presumptuous.

Contrary to what you may believe not all weed is grown in your neighbours shed or wherever. It takes certain people to get some of it into this country from wherever it is produced and then distribute it. In much the same way as with some other drugs.

Opiates and Cocaine involve the addition of no other chemicals.

MDMA is 'created' chemically.

Methamphetamine can be made at home, relatively cheaply too.

True, but I never said all weed is grown in sheds, ofcoarse some isn't and may be improted illegally. Also weed doesn't need to be snuck into where i live. It actually grows naturally in Canada. Also, even though the some drugs may not involve the addition of chemicals they're smuggled into the country like you had mentioned before because they're exotic, where marijuana can be grown easily at home or can be picked up in hospitals. Anyway, I never meant to get into an argument, I was just saying, I don't care people smoke weed, it's their life and no one has the right to tell them they live their life wrong.

Well, if drug (cannabis) usage is going to continue regardless, then why not control it moreso by legalising it? Also it's not sensible to lump cannabis under the heading "drugs" as though they all come with the same problems - this is the standard implication people make. Cannabis is definitey not like heroin. Presumably also if you're against cannabis usage in terms of its 'negative' effects on society, you're against alcohol? Statistically, a far more harmful drug than cannabis.

So you have smoked cannabis and have decided based on the experience, weighted up against potential problems, that it's not for you? Well, fair enough, I'm glad you know what is right for you but this still doesn't (at least mostly) put you in a position to know what is better for other people - "There are far better things to be doing with yourself and your money. I am by no means telling you what you should be doing with your life just saying you should stop being/pretending to be so naive." - which here you are clearly doing despite at attempt to suggest otherwise. Another implicit statement, this time that somebody who uses cannabis is unaware of what they are doing but when they actually know what's going on, when they have woken up, they will see how bad this stuff is for them and naturally stop.

At the moment I don't smoke cannabis, I haven't the desire as I'm focused on other stuff. In this sense, I might say that cannabis is bad for me in terms of what I want to get done or where I'm at. However, just because of this relative situation, doesn't mean that cannabis was always bad for me or now that I should say it's bad for everyone else. People are different in time and in relation to one another and different activities suit accordingly. I personally learnt so much from smoking in terms of perceptual shifts and as a consequence, relativity which has now lead me to investigate alternative states of mind and has actually placed me in a very desirable situation - I am fairly certain I wouldn't be as happy as I am today if I had not smoked cannabis. That's aside from all the fun I had with friends, listening to music, editing videos, riding my bike and so on.

I probably went about my previous post the wrong way, I just get (needlessly) frustrated sometimes at the attitudes of others where there is an implicit suggestion that the activities of others are wrong when those individuals know (and who are naturally better placed to know) what is better for them. And I'm sorry mate, but as far as I can tell you were definitely trying to do that, even if you were not being explicit with it and even if you didn't realise it yourself.

I probably won't reply after this as I've debated so many times around the area of drugs on this forum.

Obviously drug usage has become an intrinsic part of your personality and any mention by others regarding the negative aspects of them results in you perceiving it as a personal attack of some sort.

I'm not telling everyone that "Drugs are bad, mmmmkay?..." but merely trying to make some people aware (maybe not yourself, since I can see you are slightly more enlightened than some on here) that it's not all black and white. There's alot of people smashing their hands into keyboards on this forum without first considering that there is more outside of their knowledge than in it.

90% of the weed smoked in the states is regionally grown, and in my area legal! I understand that most of you think that Americans are backwards, but there are some states offering a medical license to grow and smoke. The medical research that has been done on weed is way more in depth then any other drug. There has been no legitimated connection made between "vaporising" and cancer. So if it's for you think about changing from splifs and pipes to a nice vaporizer. This negates the health risk 99%. So unless you choke on the bag you will be fine.

As for you who declare it's horrid and dangerous, perhaps you intended to type beer or alcohol, not weeds. Hundreds of people die every year from alchahol related accidents. Who ever heard of a weed overdose. Or "I got so blazed I creamed a kid in a crosswalk, never even saw him"?

Ok, fair enough. I think perhaps I was a bit reactive although I still hold my points despite disagreeing with their method and some of my motivation. I just get frustrated because essentially cannabis users are hypocritically persecuted (perhaps too strong a word but illustrates a point no less) with justifications that aren't applied to other similar or 'worse' things (in some senses) such as alcohol - in the sense of views that support my potential incarceration or my becoming a 'criminal' I do take it a bit personally somtimes (although I would like not to) but mostly I just get frustrated. I have experienced plenty of people judging me and telling me that what I'm diong is wrong when I know otherwise. In fact, I've been one of those people who have told others that what they are doing is wrong in terms of cannabis and other drug usage. There have definitely been points in my life where I've just spouted off anti-drug cliches, especially before I'd even done any - I've been a parrot in that sense and still am in many other ways. Allowing myself the time to consider what you're saying, whilst still holding some disagreement, it seems that you're not, at the very least, actually so involved in parroting off cliches. Cheap shot on my part!
