and always will be?

obviously not.................. the screw on hub is in the catalogue for 09...................... there is no set date for the freehub version as there are many other new products for other areas of mountain biking and road cycling on the drawing board, it has been started, there are pictures in this thread..............it will be made..................

so yeah it will never be finished

dunno why the negativity??????

they are going to make it, more than likely within the next 6 months. the screw on hub from being an idea to being put into the catalogue has taken 7 months. which includes testing and modifications.

i know people were asking the designer about it at the bike show in london recently................ his reply was it is going to be made.

something that is in the pipeline............... although the new shells have been better, a few new bearing designs are currently being tested, the main difference is the small end bearings in the ratchet being replaced with needle rollers.

il get some pics this week when im at hope

Hope, GET ROUND TO IT, TAKE OUR MONEY.

They could get the design sorted and prototyped and all ready to go, then get people to pre-buy them then just do a run with half for the pre-buyers, then half for tarty and the other trials shops. Might work! I guess they're worried about commiting time and effort into this if it isn't going to make a lot of money.

it seems hope have kicked this gift horse in the teeth and shagged its mother (ok not the last bit, but i was on a roll). So many people want this freehub, and are dedicated to bump topics from november, and still nothing's been done. Obviously the company is mega busy as is every other, but come onnnnn get it out! as Muel said TAKE OUR MONEY!

Also I think now is an appropriate time for Ash Kennard to feel smug :shifty:

They are/have been so busy with other things.......i know myself that in the past 6/8months i havent ridden my bike half as much as i would have liked. but the input from myself and ash, and us pestering them to do it kind of kick started the fixed hub.

i think theres a bit more to the freehub than meets the eye and this could be why it is/has taken much longer.......you cant rush theses things.

If they did it like Chris King did their BMX hub, it'd be pretty straight forward? If Edd Potts on here managed to make a 110mm soaced Hope himself, I'm pretty sure if they wanted to Hope could do it themselves in virtually no time at all...

...or maybe they just don't see the point 'cos the target audience is so small?

It's bigger than that of a 116 fixed hub...

I think in regards to the through axle, providing hope make it compatible with all the other axles too, that will be fine. You know, cause you can have a QR pro II, and change it to fun bolts. It would make sense...

The difference with the screw-on hub is that I'd guess that it'd cost them a shitload less to make, so if they get left with a small amount of people wanting them, it's no biggie? Whereas the mod Pro2 would be more expensive, and if people on here do what they usually do ("We really want this!" -> Product gets made -> Virtually no-one buys it, compared to the amount that said they would) Hope would be left out of pocket?
