BONGO
I've been up all night, in and out of sleep with terrible breathing, taking my ventolin what seems like a hundred times. I've been a bit off 100% for a week or so, with the humid thundery weather that's been hanging around, and it's caught up now stopping me from having a good nights sleep... I've always had asthma, and i got me a bad case of it too. Well, most of the year it's controlled perfectly, with not much use of my ventolin (salbutamol), and occasional use of pulmicort (brown one, like becotide), but normally once or twice a year it will flair up and i'll need to go on a course of corticosteroids called prednisolone, and use a nebuliser i keep at home. This used to be around winter time, with th cold it was presumed, and while thundery weather made it's effects on me, it was only the odd day over summer, and i was always brilliant in summer. But since i had my knee injury and my fitness has gone downhill, over the last 3 summers, my summer asthma has also got really bad. I can't help but think they're related... I'm sat here with a machine blurring away next to me, with a bloody mask on my face pumping vapourised salbutamol to me for 15 minutes lol. It's no more than an annoyance as it's nothing new, but jeez is it an annoyance or what!!! I know it's serious, my parents worry, but i know when i feel like it's going to go rubbish, you can sense it for a few days before, and it's just a case of doing what you know sorts it out. I'm taking my first sick leave in a couple of years (apart from the knee op), so i'm quite excited haha. Anyone else have similar things going on in their lives lol?! What triggers yours?? JTM
Your telling me you still have sick leave LEFT?! I bet your such a valued employee at BT Mines been bad this week, couple of sleepless nights, continuous coughing etc. Although mine usually ends in a chest infection? Like it has done this week and i end up on amoxycilin (sp?) antibiotics. Doctor always tells me to take the brown one more often even when I feel ok, I dont bother though as when im fine im fine, when im bad im bad. Nothing in between really? I rarely get like you though, it seriously is the most horrible thing ever when your so short of breath though. I mostly get it these days if I stay in someone elses house or something, and If you dont have your inhaler with you its a complete twat and you just wanna go home. Do you find that things like citrus juices make you worse? Once a mate bet me I couldnt drink 1/3 of a litre of lime cordial (undiluted) so obviously I did. The next hour and a half was spent sitting on his door step trying to get some fresh air. Awaits Anals response of " Theres no such thing as asthma"
