The Hitcher
Gloves or just grin and bear it, not much more you can do. Your hands will toughen up eventually.

Fishy
Dip your hands in vinegar if you're a proper pussy'ole. It'll 'arden up your hands quicker, as well as warming up sand and rubbing them on it.

Lee K7
hello guys, I've been riding trials about a month now and have developed some pretty impressive blisters. but it still hurt my palms like hell if i'm riding for more than 2 hours a day, any suggestions to reduce this problem? Thanks, Daniel I wear a thin pair of Kona gloves i got, seems to ease the suffering a bit though i did have a blister on one of my fingers after about 4 days. Seems if you keep at it though your hands roughin' up and get used to it.

suhieb
Well as has been said above the best way to help prevent blisters is to invest in some gloves, these can be found at most cycle shops and are not that expensive, i recently picked up a pair for £7:99, the other alternative is to invest in "softer" hand grips for your bars, the price of hand grips does vary but they are not to expensive. Although over time the constant rubbing and blisters on your hands will cause skin to harden and make blisters less likely. Also with blisters to help remove the pain from them you can often buy creams from your local pharmacist, also it can be helpful to "drain" them, this involves using a needle and popping it near the edge and then putting a plaster over them. It can help to increase the recovery time, but its nothing major.

ti-mig-guy
If it is not joint pain, and it doesn't sound like it is, then.. If you have a chance, try to ride a bike with a different stem and bar option, a little rise or lower may do the trick. You could move some weight off of the bars, and your hands, by leaning back a little when not needing to transfer your weight for a move. Don't hold your brake levers down when not needed, but that usually leads to sore fingers. If the skin is getting blistered in your palm (not fingers), you need different grips or gloves. Pain is part of the game...but shouldn't distract.
onzaboyjake
Turn the pain into agression, then take that agression out on your riding. I dont have this problem of hands blistering as I've being riding bikes for as long as i can remember. Give it a try, you never know it could work. Hodgey1
as everyone else as said that it just takes time for your skin to harden you can just invest in some decent gloves for now which should help you
Samtrials
I would say if its the skin on your hands you should take like a 2 day break and let your blisters heal. They should harden up a bit over time and it won't be as bad. Also, like every one already said, a good pair of gloves will help alot. jonnyc111
As other people have said, I find after a while the blisters just turn into hard skin, then after that it's fine. So just try to put up with it if you can
