Opinions Please - Which Bike To Get?

Recommended Posts

I'm torn between which bike to get out of these three. It's mainly for use in Portsmouth (if you know the area), this is my first mod bike, I've not ridden trials in a few years (used to ride stock), and I weigh about 13 stone if that helps ha ha! Looking for the most robust/reliable option, something I won't regret!

Onza T-Comp '08

Yaabaa 649

Monty 219 Magura '08

I have narrowed my choice to these three so I'm really not looking for other suggestions.

At the moment I'm liking the Onza most.

Cheers!

Can't go wrong with a t-comp, they ride very nicely :)

How come i haven't seen you around before? And does sdm stand for SouthDowns Massive :P?

Yeah I'm definitely edging towards the Onza.

When I said a few years ago I meant somewhere in the region of 5-7 years.

sdm is my initials, first name Stu.

Cheers mate!

Haha, fairplay to you :)

Yeah, i'd wait for the Onza's, the yabaas are awfully short (990 wheelbase) so you'd be better off with a BMX lol

Is there any information anywhere on the new Onza's? I am fairly eager to get a bike sorted.

It's going to be a nightmare being rubbish again, I'm looking forward to it though!

try and find a older T-Pro, exactly the same as the T-comp just a diffent colour (and 5mm longer or shorter stays, but thats all)

You can probably find one on here for cheaps :)

I like new things :D

Yeah as said before dont go for the Yaabaa as due to it having a very short wheelbase you will be very unsteady on the back wheel which is not ideal for learning on. You cant go wrong with an Onza T-comp or if you were considering buying second hand a nice spec T-pro would be ideal for getting started in trials again. I dont know much about the Monty so I'm not going to comment but to me it looks like the Onza is the best option.

I would personally say wait till you get validated, and buy a second hand one off here!

Sooo many bargains come up weekly on here. Top spec bikes for about £400-600. I would deffinately say thats your best bet, as all those bikes listed will be nowhere near as good as something you can buy off here second hand!

Just my opinion!

Onza t-comp defo :)

or you could build a bike like a did.

Bought a retro t-bird for £170

Bought a DOB Magnesium frame for £130

Bought new cranks fo £30

Bought new bar stem £??

Bought new forks for £??

Overall spend like what £400.

And it works pretty well, except some issues caused due to needing a half link...

But t-comp i think is the nicest out of all of the bikes you listed.
