Rite guys im thinking of buying my first car but it really is going to be a cheap piece of s**t to be honest with you as i cant really afford more than 1000 at the moment and would prefer it to be less so i dont have to save much :)

My question to you guys is what do you think is better in the cheap car range for reliability because obviously theres a very high risk any car i buy for the amount of money im thinking is gonna be quite bad

Im thinking punto, peugeot 106 sort of car just to give an idea :-

you dont want to go too cheap, because then you'll have to buy something you will have to spend money on, e.g to get it through an mot.

corsa's are good lil cars :P and the 1.0 are economical and quicker than the 1.2's

you could probably get a tidy one for 1000?

The way I see it is, the cheaper it is now, the more expensive its going to be in the long run. Try get yourself a German car if you can.

I see what your saying but on the other hand i could be lucky and get a dodgy one that hangs on for ages :P if it made a year id be happy to chuck it lol

I always recommend CRXes because they're really reliable, cheap to run and so much fun. Not sure you'll get a decent one for 1 grand tough. I bought mine back in 2004 in the UK for 1250, it had 40k miles on the clock but frankly that was a bargain. Might have been because it was left hand drive?

My fiat Punto is a great lil car. Would be better if it had front door speakers.

Its not bad in insurance. Im paying £700 on my own policy and thats not on a full liecence

You f**king wait mate should always check the price on a full liscence unlucky your about to pay about 2000 or alittle less.

to be honest I wouldnt recomend a polo as previously mentioned, a decent mk. 4 is really going to be 1200+ you can get cheaper ones but they tend to be rot filled etc.

Mines a MK3 1.6CL and is f**king solid!! not a thing wrong with it :) Love it. as for the MK4 bit i am guessing you mean Mk3 cus a MK4 will cost whay more than 1,200 for a half decent one.
