It's not certain that i will be upgrading, just looking for some ideas. (Bearing in mind i'm 14 and income is'nt the best lol) Heres a picture of it.. Joe .. Alex-Mitchinson Posted June 30, 2008 Report Share Posted June 30, 2008 Some sort of large clamp (31.8mm) riser bars, and a stem with similar geo to an Echo team, which is probably the most popular mod stem. No part is indestructable so sometimes its better to spend alittle more on new than skimp and have to replace it soon ;P think alot people forget and just see a part that looks good condition and buy it not thinking how old it is and abused it is because it looks asthetically pleaseing. Any personally i think you should sell it and buy a half decent second hand bike. I looked into getting one of these frames as i wanted a vee brake mod frame for my play bike and they have pritty poor geo on them. Cant see properly but think the rear dropouts will only take a 14mm axel so no trial hub will fit. The drivetrain would be the first think id update though as thats what will die first, better freewheel may be cranks aswell so can run 18 12 gear ratio which will feel better. The hub will need doing next as they are unsealed hubs. And if your doing them you might aswell just get a full wheels with some decent lighter rims. They are the functional parts that should die first but if you want to improve the ride then you need a better frame something with nice geo, but if you want to stick with the frame then bar and stem need changeing. Some nice rise bars like montys and a nice geo stem like a TMS one would improve things nicely. I would also get rid of the maggie and get a decent vee set up on as it will work miles better than that maggie set up. Just sd5 avid arms and levers with some good pads like heatsink or rockpad.
