Pashley26
I've been thinking about shit tonight, I'm not selling the Discovery. I've got a good solid reliable motor, and how many people can have a 4L V8 at this day and age, especially at my age ! So Matts convinced me, Wolf Wheels, Goodyear G90's, 4" lift, dislocation cones and rock slider sills, steering diff and petrol guards, expedition racks on the roof, and a f**k load of tools nailed to the outside !! I want to get it all done and tested by my 18th. Time for some porn Is it sad to have been doing this tonight ?This is f**king NUTZ ! And I NEED a Wolf Defender in my life soon.... Pashley26
Jardo, best of luck with the project dude, if you need help with anything give me a shout. Worked out how much it'll all cost you yet?Your a good bloke dude, and I'd be proud to have you come along and help when I get the show on the road, no doubt there will be a weekend of beer and BBQ's involved in the next few months I've umm'd and arrr'd, and that photo of the disco with massive articulation did it for me. I've got a very good basis and I'm going to do it properly The aim of the game is to keep it a tidy truck, but have massive articulation and still use it daily. 200bhp out of the 3.9 is more than enough at the moment, so it's just suspension and body work that needs to be done And yeah, the bobtailed disco is a longranger. more porn, me and Matt call this one "Cross axeled to f**k!" Anybody use them ?

Pashley26
Maybe, not 100% though.I've seen the Red 90 at local meets and stuff, so it's plausible.

Pashley26
MADDDD !!!!Went out and did a few lanes on the way back from my sisters ! New tires make SUCH a good difference, theres a few lanes round here I couldn't do when I first got the Disco. new wheels and tires later I ate the lot of them The grip is phenomenal ! I stopped in at the Gamekeepers (local yocal pub) and there was the nicest Disco ever in the carpark It was a metallic red facelift 1, with a 4" lift, external cage, Mach 5 wheels, HD bumpers and an expedition rack on the roof. Pretty much exactly how I want mine ! A quick pint later and he's coming with me to the Winch Challenge I'm doing on Sunday. Borrowing my mates Comp Safari spec'd Rangerover to do it in, I can't wait ! Bigman
Jarod, those tyres you have bought do have a do have a reputaion of wearing fairly quickly, so i would keep them for when you go offroading and when you are driving around stick to the wheels you had previously.Never been much of a fan of Winch Challenges, i much prefer RTV (road taxed vehicle) or CCV (cross country vehicle) trials where it is more dependant on the driver skill and vehicle capabilities, not just how powerfull peoples winchs are......Here are some pictures of my housemates Range Rover 3.5EFI:Testing his articulation on his old wheels (Sats on Modular rims):Trying his new wheels in a field, also cut the arches:Rubber archs fitted to cover the width of the tyres, road tyres put the width in perspective:At a pay and Play site pulling a mates V8 bobtail rangy:The Bobtail V8 looking a little tame here:Showing his rather agricultural bumper with hydraulic winch:My other housemates 90, very very tidy vehicle:An old housemates Disco:One of my mates trucks in college, lots of work has been done to it:Another mates very tidy series 2A, spent a weekend green laning around shropshire and wales in this with the roof down, awsome fun!!:That will do for now, might put a few more up when i get a chance....Adam
Pashley26
Nice one Bigman ! That Red Rangie looks lovely, and the Disco Get some more up As you say, noblies for off road MT's for during the week ! I've got to agree with you on prefering more driver based comp's too, I don't know how the range rover i'm taking will fair either !Any experience with roof tents ? I've been offered one for £200, it's a brand new one and is the same as the ones used on th G4 challenges. Don't know how much cop they are though ? Fishy
Ads, I've got a mate who knows a lot of decent lanes around shropshire and wales, if you fancy getting a convoy going give me a bell sometime.
Skoze
Evening all, back from fiddling with big bits of rusty metal Thought i'd do the done thing and show y'all some pics. Completely stripped, dismantled, chopped, welded, re-built and painted (6 times) the 101 - all in a day. It's been named Pedro, and is awesome! Currently reppin' a rover 3500 V8 with 3/4" stainless sports exhaust, compression is sweet - starts after a quarter turn of the key! Got a 3.9 V8 to go in at some point, currently tweaking it and sourcing a supercharger for some silliness. It's looking presentable now, still needs the interior doing, handbrake is sticking, so is the noisy pedal, and it's stuck in diff lock, so a bit of work to do!When Pedro arrived:Classic military paint job. "if it's dirty, paint over it":Paint stripped, etch primer on:Eye protection must be worn at all times Bit o' welding:Paint done:Not at all bad for a day's work! - me n' Jon worked flat out from 9am to 7pm on tuesday OHHH - the new toy! Winston, 86" series 1, parabolics, insa special tracks, can't remember what axles, 2.5tdi, gonna be an absolute beast!!! Spent the day sorting what it failed the MOT on, (we nearly rolled it under hard braking, it liked going left) will be in for re-test Monday!Sorry for posting so many pics :$ Edited February 21, 2009 by Marvin the Martian

Pashley26
I'll let the photo's do the talking !!! Needless to say I was in the red disco pick up.....Went places a Bowler couldn't and was probably the most capable vehicle there in the pay and play in the afternoon. Rolled it a few times and it didn't do anything ! (Lost a mirror...)There was a distinct lack of damage so I went for a second go on the same Punch !!!Which ended equally well !Third time up was a piece of piss Hats off to the brave Cameraman !
