davey1991
1948. Kwality! Ha ha, thats awesome.I knew they could do it but you never imagine it looking quite that steap. My dad had a series 2 long wheel base not sure what model, but he managed to park it in the thames with a boat on the back of it. Skoze
Yeah, they're surprisingly capable little things! Me and Jon rolled his 80" laning once (was only gentle and we flopped it onto the bank next to us, in it's previous life it went end over end onto a bollard!) thing got ridiculously steep before it finally let go, and that was due to an ill-placed hole Rolling soft top Landys however is f**king scary and should be avoided at all costs.Your dad sounds like a man! dave85
Wanker supplies actually had a motor worth buying then? I quite fancied one of these at auction, but twelve grand was a little bit too much

I quite fancied one of these at auction, but twelve grand was a little bit too much Yeah, i'm just as shocked as you are If there wasn't such a nice scope for haggling the f**k out of the thing i wouldn't have given it a second look, but things are all falling into place quite nicely, everything knackered on it's got some sweet replacements lined up, should work out well...They are AWESOME! Been a few sold recently, do look absolutely insane - shame the price is so high

Skoze
Sweet, how much have you got to play with? I know of quite a few going at the moment...
Fish-Finger-er
But how much work is there to turn a regular land rover into a forest rover?? surely for £12,500 you could start with a galvanised chassis, buy a good cab, a tidy donor vehicle with an engine of your choice, strip that down, scrap what you dont need, all brand new lift kit, either find some tractor wheels to fit, or have some machined/drilled to fit. and have a completely rebuilt, better specc'd more capable vehicle for less cash. Find me anything as long as its a land rover . I'll keep my eyes and ears open dude! Want a series or something more "modern"? If it's the former - good man, i'll sort you out. In an attempt at reviving this thread; My new toy 1952 80" Series 1 with it's new family at my mate's farm, needs a fair bit of work... And a canvas roof, and non-gay wheels. And an engine change, i can't really afford to keep the 3500 V8 in it Edited December 31, 2009 by Skoze
l33th3tr33
This is my dad's 90 with a 300tdi conversion. We both trial it, And yes, it fell over

Skoze
Had a go at getting Bernard to make some angry V8 noises today but no luck. No spark - probably something silly but it was snowing. Alot. So we gave up. Doors are for gayers; Edited January 10, 2010 by Skoze
davey1991
Why are you guys all so awesome. Still looking for something, i've just found a wonderous place down the road from me, he has at least 20 series 1-3's and many many defenders. He buys lots, canabalises the completely gone ones and re-builds the better ones. I am going to search through his collection and see what i can find. Anyone from nottingham area, its the guy on the way to grantham, just after bottesford on the A52, its bloody obvious from the 15 landrovers outside it. Skoze
Is his name Neil Furness, by any chance? Nice 86" project for £1250 in his field the moment. In 4x4 news, it seems i have the only non-tax exempt 80" in the world. f**k. Edited January 11, 2010 by Skoze
