Skoze
Pffft, that's just plain wrong. They all have them under the driver's seat, and it's only diesel so wont explode too much... Anyway, having it in the tub would take away from my bike/ shit/ noise-making devices/ people space!

JD™
It's amazing how little shit you get while driving around in something that large with Dynamo Boxing written all over it... I love it. Just has a gearbox full of bolts instead of gears, which is a shitter but it moves more than the shitty white thing in the background lol. It's amazing how polite and courteous people are when your in something like that, not to long ago I took my old Disco down to get some Diesel in it and Taxi's/Busses/everything was getting way out of my way ! JD™
Whats up with the golf at the moment?Same shit, I gave up when Dad gave me this to blat around in for a bit. I get paid tomorrow so I might just stick it in a garage, get it fixed and get rid. Have absolutely no passion for it now
Revolver
Get it fixed, and keep it for a bit... it owes you some driving time!
Phatmike
Evening chaps.I'm in the market for a 4x4, so would like some suggestions & help with insurance. Will be using it as a daily driver, as well as having some fun round the local greenlaning spots every now and again, so space & comfort are an issue. Been looking at things like Range Rovers, Jeep Cherokees etc.Whatever it is, it'll need to be LPG and do 25mpg at least, & under £2k.My current insurers wont cover me for anything over 115bhp, so if it's under that (unlikely I'm sure!) then great, but if not I'll need to sort out some cheap insurance for it (I'm 20, it'll be under my mum's name at 9years no claims).Advice please! Skoze
Rangie Classic, loads to choose from - 3.5 V8 would be nice) comfortable, dirt cheap, pretty sweet off road, easy as hell to get spares for (you'd be easiest just buying another one to break, haha) and piss easy to modify if you fancied a bit more fun off the beaten track.Or a 90? Get an early one with a 200tdi in it, would be pretty sweet.
Fishy
You after something big then? Have a look at vitara's and jimny's, easily do 30mpg, easy to lift, cheap parts, not rust buckets like LR's , small engines, light, but not massive which may be a problem if you were going to be chucking a few bikes in the back.I'm looking for a Jimny myself actually, can pick them up for fairly cheap and insurance is a load cheaper on them too. Skoze
not rust buckets like LR's Have to agree with you there dude! Newer Landy's really are pretty shocking on the rust front (Discos especially, some 90s and 110s etc) But then again, show me an SJ that can last 55 years
Fishy
I actually do really like LR's, but I've seen a 2005 defender with it's chassis absolutely f**kED with rust.Jap ***.
Skoze
Not seen one quite as new, but a mate's '03 one has died a death, the new stuff is pretty shite Had a go in a new Debender the other week that Kev was playing with through work (he's a staff writer for LRO) £23,000, loads of pointless gadgetry, no room in the front just got dash EVERYWHERE, has got some funky transit engine in it with some electronic throttle, scary does not describe it. If you lift off from being at full throttle it takes almost 2 seconds to realise it needs to stop accelerating And they're selling them like that. Fuuuuuu...Series 1 ***
Fishy
If I could afford the running costs and actually buying a decent LR, I would straight up.

I was 17 when I had mine, with a write off and on road parking and work commuting and it was about £1800 fully comp, with euro breakdown cover and cover for other vehicles, I also had my Ford 100e on the policy. So it was probably about £1100. Which you'll probably think is extortionate, but actually it's the cheapest car I've ever insured ! Not to bad on fuel driven like a normal person does and easy to get bits for.Look under the rear seats and boot floor for rust. Phatmike
Well I've just got a quote for £509 on a 4.6L V8 Range Rover with Tesco, and only £372 on a 3.9L V8 Disco so they're sounding more plausable now!Gonna be keeping my eyes out for one that takes my fancy. Don't got a 4.6, that means a P38 which is WANKKKKK also 4.6 is far to large displacement wise for the block and the heads are weak, which limits fun. You'd be surprised how hot things get when your off roading...
