Z o o !!
Helllo, Bought a set of plaz pads from new around a week ago and run them on a smooth rim, they wroked amazing but i got bored of repeating the task of having to keep applying tar because the pads just seem to eat it, so i put a fresh grind on and had the pads hitting square and at the same time, went for a quick blast out the front of my house on the curbs, nice bite, noise, not as loud asual though, no hold though Went a cleaned my rim with white spirit, sanded the top layer of the pads off, still no better can anyone suggest whats up with them or what i can do to solve it ? Cheers connor.
Fishy
Have they bedded into the grind properly yet?
JoeM
1) You cleaned your rim with white spirit, which is oil based - Use methalated spirit or petrol. 2) You need to let the pads bed into the grind (Atleast two hours riding) Edit: Sorry, didn't realise B ) is an emoction thing. JonCongreve
I have sorta the same problem. Fresh grind, tried to do it light and sharp as always. Ridden for about 3 days, and gives great bite and noise but the hold is nowhere near as good as what i remember these pads of being. Although it's not awful, just slips a bit. Maybe i'm getting fat Maybe go for a harsher/deeper grind?

JonMack
He rocks my world. SORRY!! Give the grind/pads a days riding to bed into each other and you'll be fine. Takes a bit of time for the grind to bed, and then the pads need to wear into it, you'll notice it within a few hours then just keep riding and you'll be fine Edited June 26, 2008 by Mark King

Ben John-Hynes
go back to smooh rim ? Yeah.. Sand the grind as smooth as you can get it, Then the tar will last longer and the pads will grip better.
Z o o !!
No i cant be arsed, it took ages to go back to smooth rim last time. il take your advice and giv e them a few daysd to bed in
TOBY-E
sand it so the grind is realy dead then you dont realy need to use tar, but if you do it will stick for longer. if thats makes any sense to you haha

Tried everything, but nothing seemed to work...koxx browns and rock blues are the way to go...
N Roach
I had the same problem. The trick to make these pads have aggressive bite and hold is.....................Monty brake spray You wont be disapointed.
