Ehic Stuff.

So yeah, found out this morning that in exactly a weeks time I'm going to be on a ferry to Rotterdam or something like that, before doing a week long German roadtrip frenzy. I've never been abroad before, so I didn't get an E111 back when they were legit, so I've just applied for an EHIC card now.

It says on the site it takes up to 7 working days to process, but I just wanted to check here to see if anyone's ordered one online, and how long it took to get to you? I've got a week, and it's being sent to my home in Wales so I'd need to have it posted back up to London anyway. But yeah, how long did it take for your's to come through, and what time of year did you do it (Seeing as I'm guessing this time of year is busier than, say, February for getting them processed)?

When I went to Belgium with my school, it took about a 5 days to come. But I live in Essex, so it'll most likely be different for wales.

Edit: Left an s off Days

Mine took a bunch of months...

I'm told that was an exceptional case, though.

Don't mean to scare you :P

I'm going if I have it or not, pretty much. I'm getting insurance from the P.O. too so I won't be completely uninsured, but yeah, this is a bit too important to miss...

I literally have no idea what we're doing. All I know is that at some point on Weds I'm getting a train to Kingston, then a week later I'll be getting a train from Kingston home again, and at some point in the weekend between the two I'll be at a BMX comp in Cologne :P

Why are you getting all tarted up for a BMX comp!?

Thanks, i'll be here all week. Try the shrimp. Don't forget to tip your service staff.

You can only pick up the form and have it sent off, 'cos they need to make you a physical card. Bearing in mind the staff at my local post office can barely work out which side of a stamp to lick, I'm guessing that'd probably be a bridge too far.

In related news, I hate waiting for important parcels.
