Simpson
Like most people at this time of year im thinking about losing a lil' bit of weight to look a tadd better on the beach on holiday. I remember watching a programme on weight loss and they were saying how bad for you alcahol was... I average about... 20ish pints a week.. (i know its not good but its what i like doing and I'm not going to stop) Just wondering how much it really does affect your body!?!?!?!? Token
I like your bod as it is, it's more cuddly. Strongbow is approx 240kcal a pint so 240 x 20 = 4800 calories a week so it equals 685 extra calories per day. Probaly is making a small difference. Fish-Finger-er
I like your bod as it is, it's more cuddly. Probaly is making a small difference. well technically on that front. 4800 calories = 1.3 lbs of fat. so your looking at 1.3 lb's of fat per week, so over 5 weeks, thats like almost half a stone. and thats before we mention the burger/kebab/pizza you eat on your way home drunk, the fry up you have in the morning to soak it up,and the fact you may just end up too hungover to ride properly the next day. oooo and dont forget the evils of pork scratchings and scampi fries. edit: forget to mention, sure someone older and wiser than me, once told me, that when you where drunk, you sleep in a way deeper state, and have a slower metabolism, because your bodies more relaxed than when its normally sleeping(hence the reason its harder to wake a drunk person, or you often wake up unable to function for a couple of minutes). fredrico
An extra 300 calories over the recommend limit adds up to 3 stone a year, was on a diet program on channel 4.
Simpson
well technically on that front. 4800 calories = 1.3 lbs of fat. Really! SHIT! i mean... I'm not fat by a long means and probably not into the tubby stage, just I've got some handles on me.... Bloody hell that is actually shocking... so 685 calories is like 3 breakfast's a day just through drinking? I know what you mean about the next morning thing, sometimes i can tell my body isn't working right for days after drinking, and i do love the shitty grease up before and after drinking. Krisboats
For someone young like you with a fairly good metabolism and an active lifestyle (assuming you ride a couple of times a week) a few hundred calories extra isn't going to hurt that much. If on the other hand your bodies metabolism has slowed down due to increased amounts of sitting on the couch watching tv and riding once every couple of months.. it'll show far more. Brian Bleech
Stop drinking as much beer and drink vodka/bicardi and diet mixer, with are both lower in calories or maybe g&t. You can get low carb beer too nowadays, don't know what though.
Wet Banana
I've put on a stone in about 6 months because of getting wasted. My theory is that the extra weight gain is due to Ken's Fried Chicken's "Mega Meal Deal" with chicken burger, 6 wings, 2 fries and can of soft drink, that I always end up eating after clubbing when I've got the munchies. Damn Turks.
