Sam Nichols
When I was rocking around Australia for three months my weapon of choice was this.. It was beasty to be honest But for roadtripping with bikes nothings going to beat a transit van/panel van really, you can sleep in the back, plenty of room to load it with gear, pretty comfy too, diesel = big bonus, plus everyone loves a pimped van.. you can load it with a sick sound system and your set! Ebay.. Renault Master VW transporter Your best bet would be to buy a panel van and mod it yourself, its not hard to get a bed and some storage fitted out. But to be honest, you can get away with just a mattress really. Depends how pimp you want to be!
Skoze
Would have to be a split-screen camper van! Need one for such road-trippy goodness. Shame the price is so extortionate

Shame the price is so extortionate Bay? - 'bout £4k for a clean, but not custom one. Dunno what else to suggest to be honest... Brian Bleech
VW campers are awesome for roadtrip, not fast but fun. Old Volvo estates are great too

deanie-b
VW campers are awesome for roadtrip, not fast but fun. If you have no budget, a 2 litre porsche air-cooled engine would sort that
Hendrix
If you have no budget, a 3.4 litre porsche air-cooled engine would sort that
OD404
Depends what you are taking with you. I got everything my cousin and I needed for the trip to Le Mans in the RX7. I'm glad I didn't take a van or estate, the drive would have been boring as hell! And for me, the drive is half of what these trips are about. Anyway, the offending vehicle (though I'm sure most have seen it already)
Davetrials
please dont start to post pictures of your car, just because you spent more than 5 hours in it,m that does not count as a road trip. not aimed at neone , just i can see where its going. Simpson
Le Mans in the RX7 Got to love the LeMans you pull up at a cafe and there are 6 blokes all grinning with gleaming porshes, and then 1 very f**ked off bloke turns up in a rusty old van carrying all there stuff. Bit vuage question mate, you talking about taking bikes? People number? Want to sleep in it or not? Budjet? How much confort do you want? Fuel efficency? Luggage? Distance? Terrain? I agree with you on the first comment, even though I actually posted a pic. However, with reference to the above, what do you think a road trip is? Sam Nichols
According to urban dictionary.. 1. Road Trip When a bunch of kids get in a car (most likely a VW Bus, most likely with tons of drugs, and drive to an exotic destination (like Vegas or New Jersey). It happened more in the 70s. "Dude, let's go to Vegas! Hell yeah! Road Trip!! "
Simpson
Thats a load of shit. You dont need a big car or drugs to have a road trip. And its rarely to an exotic location.

And its rarely to an exotic location. although its gaurenteed to be more fun! my idea of a road trip is a group of people travelling (via road) to somewhere you wouldnt normally go... a 6 hour trip to newquay is in my eyes a roadtrip!, I guess any holiday/event where the journey takes up a significant amount of the actual holiday time! Tomm
My mate's just got a VW Transporter which we're going on a roadtrip in. 5 people + 5 bikes = eeeeeasy. Just roll em in with room to spare. Plus it drives roughly like a car and does almost 30mpg. f**king A.

mink
We did a 3000 mile trip to the french alps for the megavalnche last year. 9 people, 13 bikes in a f**ked LDV minibus. Was a right laff, read all about it here. Off in two weeks to do much the same thing again, I'm excited. All you need for a road trip is some like minded idiots and a vehicle, the rest will sort itself...
