PaRtZ
I think if I read that page properly I would understand it, but meh, its before 12 so theres no chance of that happening It sounds ok though viscosity wise, but you just have to make sure it isn't hydroscopic or whatever the right word is - It doesn't absorb water. Also is it worth doing as in how expensive is it? In terms of performance to price ratio, I don't think anything's going to beat water But its always worth looking at alternatives. If you can get your handson some for cheap, try it and let us know
Rich Pearson
I'd be a little worried about what that would do to your seals, but meh, I'm not an expert. Rich

casualjoe
I tested Johnsons Baby oil a few weeks back. Verdict: Not very good The lever and pads didnt return very fast after a while as well as mineral oil does, it handles compression ok though. Just incase anybody was wondering
keeps21
Just a quick question - didn't want to start a new topic. When doing a water bleed for the first time I have to drain the Magura Royal Blood out first yeah?

Just incase anybody was wondering kind of obvious, you'd have to search for a long time to find a liquid that isn't considered incompressible. i tried sunflower oil once. it was shite. for getting magura oil out i connect a bike pump to a bit of hose and then the bleed hole. hook it up and start pumping which blows most of the oil out. compressed air is better, of course. Just be aware that breathing mineral oil mists is potentially very harmful (The lungs can't clear it out apparently), so if you're blasting it out with compressed air make sure it's in a well ventilated area and/or wear a face mask... In liquid form it's safe to drink though it has laxative effects (It was used in the medical profession as a laxative and is still used in the food industry to make jelly sweets shiny - which could explain why I feel a bit weird if I eat 400g of jelly babies in the one sitting ). DARkON
if any uses this be aware that used transformer oil can have some very nasty chemicals with it, namely polychlorobenzenes. PCBs
