Daborn Meister
I was wondering how you remove, and then re-attach forks, surely someone on here must know Cheers, Joe
NicP
Undo your stem, make a note of how the spacers are stacked if you have them, whack them out, stick the new ones in, put the spacers back on, tighten back up stem ride. should be right? Ben John-Hynes
There's something called a crown race(a small metal ring) that sits at the bottom of the steer tube on the forks, You'll nee to remove that and put it on your new forks. Daborn Meister
Is there any method for getting the crown off or does it just slide off? Joe
Ben John-Hynes
It'll be wedged on, But don't hit it with a hammer, Take a block of wood, Rest it on the crown race and hit the wood with a hammer, Each time the race moves move the wood around a bit. Is there a method also for re-attaching it to the new forks? Cheers, Joe Edited June 21, 2008 by Daborn Meister
