hi everyone,

i was just woundering.... :ermm:

if i change my frame, from a onza t-pro 06 model,

to a gu typhoon 08,

will the length of the steerer tube be too small,

so i cant screw the top of the headset into the tube? :S

or will i need new forks because the steerer tube is too short??

many thanks (Y)

Depends how long your steerer is now.

well ive ordered echo forks from tarty, should arrive monday! :D

cant wait!!!

so ill cut em down to fit my t-pro, then fit em to my gu frame when i get it,

just dont want to cut it to small for the gu

Don't cut it to fit the Onza then

Stick a few extra spacers above the stem, so the steerer remains a bit longer, and you'll have room to play just in case :)

oh yeah,

why didnt i think of that?

cheers mate (Y)

does anyone no how long the frame is on the gu? (where the steer goes though)

is it longer then the tpro?

or shorter?

You're proper impatient! Leave it long, it doesn't really make any difference.

The GU will undoughtably have a longer headtube section, just down to it taking 'standard' heasets (which will sit above/below the headtube) as opposed to a T-pro having 'internal' headsets (which sit inside the headtube).

I'd just leave the steerer alone, and run 1000 spacers on top for a week or two. Atleast you won't have to buy new forks... again :P

Seriously, if you're that worried and really want to ride, chuck on 20/30mm spacers above the stem before marking up and cutting down

Yeah, it'll look a bit gimpish, but for a week or so it'll be fine

well measure your head tube on the tpro , compare it to the 112mm long head tube the gu has, add mm for the headset and stem and that will giva you a ruff idea what lenght you need , orrr do as monkey boy says
