stunt man t
hi everyone, i was just woundering.... if i change my frame, from a onza t-pro 06 model, to a gu typhoon 08, will the length of the steerer tube be too small, so i cant screw the top of the headset into the tube? or will i need new forks because the steerer tube is too short?? many thanks Edited June 21, 2008 by stunt man t

matt rushton
Would it not make sence to wait till you get your GU and then fit the echo forks?
Luke Rainbird
Don't cut it to fit the Onza then Stick a few extra spacers above the stem, so the steerer remains a bit longer, and you'll have room to play just in case

Luke Rainbird
Seriously, if you're that worried and really want to ride, chuck on 20/30mm spacers above the stem before marking up and cutting down Yeah, it'll look a bit gimpish, but for a week or so it'll be fine

Dekes
Don't cut your steerer tube man, just ride with an eifeltower of spacers.
cai
The GU will undoughtably have a longer headtube section, just down to it taking 'standard' heasets (which will sit above/below the headtube) as opposed to a T-pro having 'internal' headsets (which sit inside the headtube). I'd just leave the steerer alone, and run 1000 spacers on top for a week or two. Atleast you won't have to buy new forks... again
