Wrayvon
Slightly over budget but: here I only looked for the cheapest 500gb ones however. (Only looked on two sites too ) Edit: If you look on the same site, there is a Western Digital for just a few pounds more. I'd more rather have that one Edited June 20, 2008 by Wrayvon
Danny Kearns
Because if you can stretch your budget a little, I use one of these and there great. Got over 20,000 trials video's on mine, over 200 dvd rips, over 20,000 songs and around 5,000 photo's and still got loads of room. Well worth the money: External Hard-drive, Click me. All external harddrives are 'plug and play'. The dimentions are in that link.
Krisboats
If it was me, i'd be on ebay. You can choose one of these 250gb ones from high street shops or get a decent 500gb one for just a little over budget. If it was me i'd be looking at one with networking capabilities for convenience. I'd just attach it to the router and its acessible by all the computers on the network.

Muel
We'll be getting a wireless router with our new interwebness in a couple of weeks, and I want to have a networked hard drive. What do I need to look out for? Does it have to connect via Ethernet?

Hendrix
Okay. I've got a couple. One is a Seagate 120GB USB 2.0 Go. - pretty handy, and considering the amount of stuff I've got on it, it's not even half full! The other one is a Macie - 500GB Firewire 800. Seagate = £50 Lacie = £90 Firewire is FAR better than USB, mainly because it's faster. And, lacie are an amazing make of hardrives. Not that Seagate are bad, but they're just not as robust and multi purpose! Hope this helped Edited June 20, 2008 by Hendrix

If your wanting proper speed, E-Sata is where its at... firewire sucks balls by comparison.
