JB1
Tell me why people try to do that when 99.9% of the time in trials you never use them Your right, they aren't much use in trials but it looks really cool, I spent ages practicing front hops as a lad & got them really dialled now. Its all about that point of ballance! Kinda struggling with sidehops. Can do them alright on a mod but when i try to do them on a stock it just doesnt happen, like my foot comes automaticly off. I went through a spell of doing exactly that. Think it is just a confidence issue, I found that if you keep practicing on a height that you can do comfortably your technique will improve quicker, as opposed to trying heights that you get every 1 in 20 go's. Get the technique sorted & you will soon move on to the next level. Works for me.
eskimo
I'm currently working on fakie nose manuals/ stoppies. But i wouldn't say they are evading me as i'm still working on it. But one thing i can't figure out is G-turns on the trials bike. It's like a whole different move than on a bmx. I can't figure out the 180 endo and then leave the brake to manual along. I think i just need to push the bike under me and modulate the brake. Can't be bothered with buying a better disk brake for the job right now though. Nathan Woodley
Taps are fun. Weird, but fun. The pedal strokes are really important as well as timing. I practiced for two hours before I could properly get on top of something only about 6" off the ground. How did you manage to tap something 6"? NVWOCI WVS
On a trials bike, I was working on small 360 gaps, was getting the distance (not more than a metre) and rotation but i was finding it hard to ride out of it smoothly. I love gapping into a manual, it took alot of practise but i was easily getting 5 foot (give or take) flat gaps into a manual without touching the brake pretty consistently. I think if you practise anything enough you'll get it eventually.
