TrialZonn
Hello. I would like to know what combinations of gear do you use when you ride trials... I personaly use a 22 tooth front chainring and a 20 tooth spocket on the back...I have also a 18 tooth trialtech spocket that I haven't used yet. If anyone knows please inform me about how can I calculate the gear ratio and compare with other ratios (for example is my ratio 22-20 close to the classic 18-16?) AdamR28
(for example is my ratio 22-20 close to the classic 18-16?) Very - just divide one number by the other and then you can compare all gear ratios
TrialZonn
Thanks!!!I like very much the ratio I use now (22-20).I just wanted what the percentage of other riders use...(because some people find 18-16 very light)
kid creole
I use 18-16 but id like to have 18-17 if it wasnt so difficult to unscrew the rear cog.
Greetings
I use 18:17 and 158mm cranks, love it.
steve@banbury-trials
dont forget that crank arm lebgth will make some difference to the feel too, long arms make the gear fell a bit lighter due to the extra leverage. steve
sstein
I use 22:16 though I have managed pedal kicks on my dirt jump bike with 36:
Adrian
18:
Diz
All depends on your crank length and the strength of your legs. Mines 20:16 on a 175mm crank, little bit light to be honest.
TrialZonn
I just changed mine to 22-18 to try it and maybe keep it if I like it more from the previus 22-20 Now I think I am closer to the classic 18-15 of many bikes (such as ZOO Pitbull,Adamant A1 and the GU bikes)
