Mat Smith!
Reet, i dunno what tyre i should get, mines bald as anything right now, im wanting something with good grip + bounce + never punctures , i want something what i can run with a downhill tube and never be scared of punctures, not botherd about the weight or anything, something by maxxis? EDIT: I dunno what dual ply and 40a compound or whatever means either, never bought a stock tyre in the 6 months ive been riding it lol. Matx Edited June 13, 2008 by Mat Smith! TheMunn
Syncros bht tyres are probably the best i've ever used.
ben_travis
minion + DH tube = pretty heavy (but will not puncture (unless you run stupidly low pressures)

forteh
Im running a dual ply high roller 2.5 in 40a slow reezay and its so unbelievably grippy; got a kenda dh tube in there and cant see it ever puncturing Ive used it at 8psi without a problem but it tended to squirm about a fair amount, tend to run 15-20psi now and I reckon I could use a normal tube in there without much hassle. As for maxxis compounds the are as follows: - 40a Slow reezay - very soft and sticky but wont last as long. 42a Super tacky - not as sticky but with reasonable life. 60a Maxxpro - hardest compound least grip. I had a 60a highroller on the back for 18 months and about half worn, it doesnt grip as well as the softer compounds when worn but when new it was pretty damn good. Single ply tyres are lighter but the sidewalls are much softer and more likely to pinch at low pressures, dual ply are a much more rigid carcass and give a bit more bounce
dan_addison
If you want to go overkill Nokian Gazzalodi, its highly unlikely you'll get a puncture but if you do it wont be comeing off in a hurry. Or a 2.5 supper tacky highrollor awesome tyres run them on my DH bike and the last for ages
TrialZonn
I think that Maxxis tyres are what you want. Both Hi Roller and Minion (Dual Ply) last for a long time of period and the Minion is olny 8gr heavier from the hi roller.Running them with a downhill tube will increse their resistance at puntures... Buy on of them they are good tyres
Scotty Evil1
Im currently testing out a new kenda rear tyre. Its amazing, easily rivals a maxxis, if not beats it. Super soft compound, but hasnt pinched or seemed to have worn down at all yet! Keep your eyes out for the production version! Scott
