Wheel Build

Hey forum

Currantly building up a new rear wheel, now i have built it up and taken it appart twice hahaa,

this mainly down to me being a pleb and not reading properly but also spoke lengths.

Now i have not changed rims its a try-all on pro 2 and all i have done is brought a new rim.

I know u have to have short spokes on the drive side. BUT because its a disk hub also, are all the spokes the same size?

lol

thanks lads

why dont you measure up the hub and the rim and use the dt swiss calculator, or if you're feeling lazy ask tarty what length spokes you should have. i dont think the spoke lengths will be the same as the wheel will be dished so its central in the frame.

Flanges on the ProIIs are ever so slightly different. Like, 2mm or something? from what I remember.

Look at where the holes are place on the flange, I'm sure thr drive side ones are further down?

Pro II's are designed to build into dishless wheels (same length spokes both sides) :)

Taking the ERD from Tartybikes of 542mm, building 3x and 32h will need 262mm spokes all round

Thanks you man, so the spokes (sapin) should work fine, i think im just lacing it up wrong i think.

When I first built a wheel, I thought I must be doing something wrong as the spokes seemed uneven lengths/tension

I debuilt and rebuilt it about 3 times, before just going ahead anyway, and it turned out I had been doing it right every time

Often if you just keep going, get it laced and bring the tension even all round, things will work out better than you might at first think :)

Just go at it systematically. Start at the "key spoke" closest to the right of the valve hole.

Have one of the web guides handy as you do it to, they are all very similar.

I followed This Guide and it worked out well, and This page for the spoke lengths.

Have faith in yourself and you should be good, are you using new spokes?
