james266
I need to build a new front wheel and cant decide what rim to go for. I use a front disc so was thinking of a disc specific rim like the Mavic XM 317 or if I can justify it a XM917. Anyone got any thoughts on what is a good light front rim? That also isnt too fragile? Echo-Scott
http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=255 Had mine 2 years and had no trouble. It really is great. Hog for the win Couldn't agree more, I had mine around two years aswell and its still great, got a slight buckly but not noticable due to using disk and only got one small dent but it hasn't effected the rims strength. Luke Rainbird
I had a hog and it was perfect, though I think a Try All sneaks in a tiny bit lighter, and still leaves room for sidewall drilling if you want it If you don't want to go down the wide rim route, a Mavic will do great - I ran a vee on an XM719 the other day with no issues, and have just stuck on an X517 which I don't doubt will be perfect, and is only 400g
