Sam Jones
As Title says really. I am runnung a 22 on the front and am going to single speed. i just want to know what size would be best or would it be easier to scrap the 22 and go for something completly different. N.Wood
18 or 19 depending on how you like it. I've run 22:18 for years, which is pretty much the same as 18:
forteh
Have you considered using the same gearing youre using now? I find 18-15 alittle high but then Ive only got 165mm cranks.
psycholist
I ran 22:17 for years on 170 or 175mm cranks and currently run 18:14. This is towards the upper limit of what people use though...
craigjames
ive used anywhere from 17-19 and have settled on 18t using 175 cranks works great

abtrials
22:18 But, Get 18:16. me and max use 18/16 so you will want 22/20 for the same feel try it
Diz
I use 20:16 but find there's not quite enough power to each pedal stroke. I'm running 175mm cranks. If you're one for watching the weight, i'd go for a smaller cog at the front then reduce the size of the rear one accordingly.
