b_huskinson
Hi All, I have recently been getting back on my bike and went on a proper ride last week end, really enjoyed it, it has even motivated me to de-'old skool' my bike, spend a few quid on a new lid and start riding like i used to. Im even thinking about entering a competition once i have knocked the rust off abit! Anyway, i have seen that there is a national on the 29th of june up in lancashire, which is about a 320 mile journey for me, so would just like to hear from anyone who has been involved with the competition scene recently and what they thought of the sections, organisation, general level of riding, and which bikes are popular. obviously this would be quite a costly meeting for me to attend since petrol is so expensive these days, and also it would be 1st competition for around 4 years, so would just like to make sure its for me. If not i may just wait until the round at hook woods on 21st september as it is more local. If you know of any other events over the summer which are in the south(ish) then please let me know. Furthermore if you live near me and you fancy a ride give me a holla! thank you to anyone who can help, cheers, Baz.
N.Wood
I remember going on a ride in Worthing probably 7 years ago when I was on my Azonic DS1, seeing you, Lee McCaw and others ride, you were the best riders I'd ever seen! That was a good day... Even though it was pissing it down. Anyways, I've only done one comp in my life which was awesome. The most local to you would be the Essex (EBTC) rounds. Good luck! b_huskinson
Thanks nick, yeah me and lee went for a ride the other day, was like the old days ! worthing was awsome for riding i remember seeing 40 odd people turning up for a ride back then, i stiil live around here and it seems only a handfull of people still ride, hope this is not the trend across the U.K? I used to ride lots of essex rounds, was good fun ploughing through the mud! have had a look at their website and they seem to be only running three rounds this year, which seems quite a downturn, and it dos'nt seem that there are any rounds for a while, which is a shame. anyone else have any views? hugh_b
cool to hear Baz, i've been slacking with my riding lol. As Patt said ymsa trials are mint, all around the derbyshire area like bracken rocks etc, uci rules, classed as a brit championship now too, doesn't get much better than that really! As for bikes, everything is long, low and has a high bb now days so take your pick. Have a ride on my meta if i see you around soon! Cheers-Hugh
