Ben H!
hi people i today when i was out on my bike i noticed that the rear wheel kept wobbling to the left hand side and it wouldn't stay straight is this normal? does anyone know what is causing this cheers Ben
Ben John-Hynes
it wouldn't stay straight is this normal? Obviously it's not normal! The cones may be loose, the axel bolts may not be tightened properly, spokes may be loose.

Ben John-Hynes
Lol Just give the spokes a quick go over then, Just don't tighten them too much.

jay2008
My full sus did that so i took the cones and axle out to check and found the axle had somehow snapped/sheared straight in half! Might be worth a look

jay2008
No problem, it was quite a smooth break, very clean. Still no idea to this day how I managed it! It was a quick release axle so could have been that. When you check it, have a close look around the cones too as it is a fine shear and if it is broken, it could be right near to the thread. Hope you get it sorted matey

otaylor38
uhave you tried to tighten the bearings? these are two things at each side of the wheel just tighten them with a spanner.
craigjames
if its running really rough and theres lots of drag, then i imagine you've snapped the axle like has been said or the bearings are crushed; creating slack and movement but also stopping them from running smoothly. keeps21
found that the rim is slightly buckled at one side i'll get it fixed this week I've found that truing buckled wheels isn't too difficult, and is definitely a good skill to have. Have a read through the repair/how tos here: http://www.parktool.com/repair/
Gogz-
ok then it's just my gay bike it's always broken you need to get used to your bike being broken and having to fix it when your riding trials.... Diz
you need to get used to your bike being broken and having to fix it when your riding trials.... Too true..annoyingly! Just a thought as well. I was riding one of my bikes and it kept doing the same thing, going off to one side. It wasnt till ages later i realised i'd actually snapped the frame on the chainstays. Hopefully its not the case for you, but worth checking just in case.
sstein
Had a problem like this. I trued the wheel and it was still doing it, it was only then I realised I had snapped the axle in the middle and it was being held together by the quick release skewer.
