Dj Ride Abingdon Reflection Thread

What an absolutely excellent day, great to put names to faces. Quite funny to mess around on a few people's rides after a good 2 years of no riding!

I was the chap with the straw hat filming through the day, the battery on my camera is super mega lame so I couldn't capture nearly as much as I'd like, so much great riding all the time so I hope that the footage gives a little hint/reminder of how it was on the day.

Massive thanks to Sue, Charlie and Sam and to everyone for making it such a great day (Y)

P.S. Big thanks also to Bigman for the ride to the station (as well as on the bike) and to Danny G for letting me use his camera!

Also, at Charlie's request, please leave a thank you on the Abingdon United FC message board. You don't need to sign up, just hit reply on the bottom post and leave your name and a brief message of thanks - Abingdon FC

I believe that i speak for the majority when i say we are willing to help out in anyway to make this possible in future years.

Totally. If we (thinkbikes) can help at all, we will.

Spode you were pulling out some dammm impressive riding today.........

I think I've been hanging around Bessell too much :P

Max was pushing me on a front wheel gap yesterday and I leaned as far as I could into it and felt my shoulder go a little bit. Took some pain killers and carried riding. Bloody hell does it hurt today - can't lift my arm properly :P

pissed me off that not everyone went to the memorial garden though

i did a well retarded thing and proper pulled a muscle in my neck, almost like a whiplash and can't even move my head.., and shame gary snapped his brake lever too so we decided to leave just as people were heading to the gardens...

the good thing was loads of people turned up from all over the country for a massive meet, and im sure DJ would have appreciated it either way.

big thanks to everyone that helped to organise the event!

ride in peace DJ.

I enjoyed yesterday alot it was really nice to see what David does in a big perspective. So many of you are really good :) and it was nice to see so many people with the same passion all having a good time and the atmosphere was great :). I sat and watched most of the time (and got really badly sunburnt lol) but I did take some pictures and did some videoing so ill get those up soon for people to see :).

I don't know why, but both the previous two DJ rides were held in blazing, warm sun as well.

It turns out incredibly nice photos, almost like someone's looking down on us...

And the only year it chucked it down was when about six of us were trying (in vain) to chat up Em, DJ's ex... :P

Thats who you were! Sorry dude, but when you came up to me and said, "Alright Rich," I just went into uber polite mode and acted as though I knew who you were; I don't think we'd ever met in real life!

Really awesome day, so glad so many people turned out to enjoy the day, and was also amazing that so many people turned out for all the right reasons as well.

Hopefully we can have one next year again, but we're ALL gonna have to put something in this time to keep it going, because this event is one of the most worthwhile things we do as a sport and a community, something I mentioned to Sue yesterday with the reflection that its a shame something so good had to come from such a tragic event.

Really enjoyed myself (even if it didn't look it for the first half of the day) glad everyone else did too.

Brilliant!

It was my first ride for DJ at this venue, I heard it was great the past years and I wasn't disapointed!

The weather was ace, the objects were brill and everyone was friendly and had a great time. Was nice to meet people.

Big thanks to the Jones Family, I know a lot of work went into the event, so BIG respect from me!

Steve barely rode that day...hence the clean-ness. ;)

To be fair, I hardly did anything when I was there too... Just stood there watching everyone else try to kill themselves!
